This fonds consists of Mary Ollerhead's notebook with teaching notes. At the back of the book are notes pertaining to her estate after she died. There are a number of notes that Mary wrote pertaining to her estate and funeral arrangements. A carbon copy relating to her will and some sympathy cards are also included. There is a collection of bank books from 1937 to 1953 included in the fonds as well as a retirement letter from the Toronto Board of Education and a few other articles of correspondence.

The fonds also consists of correspondence, including letters from the Honorable Leslie Frost, photographs, maps, and an original 1863 surveyor's diary for Eyre Township. Also included are the C.R. Stewart diaries, dated 1902-1904. C.R. Stewart (1826-1905) was resident agent for the Canadian Land and Immigration Company and was the first settler in the Village of Haliburton. In his diaries he refers to Colonel Samuel Hughes and Mossom Boyd. Stewart's son, C.E. Stewart (1851-1921) was editor of the "Bobcaygeon Independent". The fonds also includes several historical papers and publications written by Cummings and others.

The issues are scattered and topics covered include agriculture, local events, local gossip, and politics. Also included are four letters of George M. Douglas relating to the newspaper.

This fonds consists of one 1850 notebook entitled "J.K. Roche's Field Notes, Port Hope" which contains survey notes on properties in Port Hope, Canada West, and which belonged to the estate of John D. Smith. There are also two survey documents describing Lot 3, Concession 1 in Hope Township which is signed by John K. Roche and is dated July 20, 1844, and one which is signed by Geo. A. Stewart, Ward, and is undated. Also included in the fonds are three unidentified and undated school building architectural drawings.

This fonds consists of two "Counting Copy Books" which set down the basic rules of arithmetic and provide examples for solving, including reduction, the rule of three, compound interest, rebate or discount, equation of payments, barter, and profit and loss. Under "Reduction" can be found listings of units of: Avoir dupois Weight, Troy Weight, Time, Cloth Measure, Long Measure, Apothecary's Weight, Dry Measure,Winchester Measure, and Wine Measure. Some references in the back of Robert Willan's book record payments for shearing in 1819 and1820. An inscription on Robert's book reads "Wm. Marshall, Aughton near Lancaster" [teacher?]. Another inscription on the last page of Edwards book reads "Thomas M. Willan, South Monaghan." A loose slip of paper in Edward's book reads "Robert Willan, Challan Hall, Febery 14, 1819."

This fonds consists of research in the 19th and 20th century Canadian historical geography, specifically emigration and settlement from British Isles to Upper Canada, the Trent Canal use during WWII, the environmental and cultural consequences of flooding from the Trent Canal dam in the late 19th century, and research on Bon Echo, Algonquin, and Banff National Parks. Research is also included on European migration and land settlement patterns and processes in Cape Province, South Africa in the early 19th century and in Western Australia in the early 20th century. Included in the research materials are several maps, a small collection of photo negatives, and microfilm reels.

This fonds consists of Professor Brunger's research in 19th century Canadian historical geography, mainly in Upper Canada/Ontario, focused on emigration from the U.K. and settlement in Newcastle (Peterborough County) District and London (Talbot Settlement) District. The fonds also consists of Gilbert's research material as an archaeologist, Stewart's research material relating to her work as an art lecturer, photographs and materials relating to the Bagnani estate, "Vogrie", located in Port Hope, Ontario, and materials concerning Gilbert and Stewart's association with Trent University.

This collection consists of 14 photograph negatives of Peterborough Normal School, undated, and portraying people and the grounds of the school. The negatives are enclosed in a J.J. Gilfillan, Orono, Ontario, photographer's envelope, with the name Calvin Hamm, Orono, Ontario written on it. Calvin Hamm was born on March 28, 1909 at Orono, son of Ernest Hamm and Florence Hughson. He was appointed Principal of the Morley Consolidated School at Stratton in September 1935 and received his B.A. at Western University in June 1943. He later taught high school in Fort Frances (taken from a typed information enclosure which accompanies the collection). Also included is a Peterborough Normal School Christmas Card, undated; a Peterborough Normal School Literary Society invitation, 1930; and a photograph of the "Floating Bridge, Bridgenorth, Chemong Lake, 1933."

This fonds consists of one school class photograph, and negative, from S.S. #5 from 1900. The names of all the children and the teacher are listed on the back of the photograph. There is one photograph, and negative of Mr. and Mrs. J.C. Hope and which had belonged to Ross Comrie. There is also one photograph, and negative, of John, Hugh and Alexander McFee. There is family history written on the back of the photograph about each McFee and their families as well as where John McFee lived.
