This fonds consists of essay submissions, correspondence and financial records which relate to the Alternatives magazine when it was published at Trent. There are layouts, original artwork and subscriber information for several issues. Conserver Society Notes, which amalgamated with Alternatives, also has material in this collection.
AlternativesThis fonds consists of approximately 843 original cartoons by A.G. Racey covering a wide range of subjects. Due to the universal nature of his cartoons, Racey gained international recognition and his works were reproduced in numerous newspapers and magazines around the world. A file list and descriptions of the cartoons, including dates where known, is available below.
Racey, Arthur G.The fonds consists of the literary and personal correspondence; literary and poetic manuscripts; and typescripts of reviews of anthologies, lectures and essays by and about Arthur J.M. Smith. Also included in the fonds are photographs and prints.
Smith, Arthur James MarshallFonds consists of photographs, correspondence, and miscellaneous documents pertaining to the Atwood family of Lakefield, Ontario. Also included are materials pertaining to Anne Atwood's family, the Traills; a sketch identified through an accompanying note as Ernest Shackleton; and correspondence between Edwin Guillet and explorer George M. Douglas.
Atwood familySeries consists of awards and memorabilia documenting Peter Gzowski's education and professional development from high school through retirement. The series also contains awards given to Gzowski throughout his career, as well as books, letters, and newspaper clippings related to his death in 2002. Included in this series are photographs of award ceremonies, professional photographs, photographs of Gzowski's family, university assignments, copies of magazines and newspapers where Gzowski has published work, and drawings of Gzowski. This series also contains personal records, such as Gzowski's baby books (1934-[1939?]) and several volumes of memorial books (2002).
Series 3 consists of papers, correspondence and records relating to the operations, promotions, and activities of the canoe trip camp of Wanapitei at Lake Temagami, Ontario under the directorship of Bruce and Carol Hodgins.
File also includes a pencil sketch of two people canoeing, likely drawn by Carol, a newsletter with camp photographs (1980, 1981), and a photocopy of a newspaper story about Bruce and Carol Hodgins (1983).
This addition to the fonds consists of Board minutes, briefs, correspondence, subject files, press clippings, periodicals and various other assorted records pertaining to the Canadian Association in Support of Native Peoples. The bulk of the fonds consists of correspondence, reports, minutes and photographs created by CASNP and its members and associated agencies. This collection consists of assorted documents relating to Cobourg and vicinity. It includes marriage certificates, correspondence, indentures, opera house programmes, choral and church programmes, an oil sketch by Alice M. Duncan, and photographs and postcards. It also includes a copy of the "Cobourg World", April 8, 1898 Volume 25, and No. 43.

File consists of correspondence between Stewart Bagnani and Trent University regarding her position as special lecturer in art and as director of Mackenzie Gallery. File also includes lectures schedules; a sketch of the building which housed Mackenzie Gallery before it opened as a gallery, by David Woods, 1971; a wedding photo of Mr. and Mrs. Gengembre-Curwood (1970); miscellaneous letters to Stewart regarding the Bagnani medal, etc.; also financial records, etc. relating to Mackenzie Gallery.
This fonds consists of correspondence, research notes and original documents which were collected by Professor David Macmillan during his research. Items such as voters' lists for Victoria County, Ontario and a series of broadsides advertising land in Victoria County; documents from the Hudson's Bay Company, East Indies; minutes from the Barbados Board of Legislative Council, a Sydney Australia Company, and the Sydney Australian Committee of the New Steam Company; and a number of reproduction engravings and prints are included in the fonds. Also included in the fonds is a copy of Macmillan's 1964 Ph.D. thesis: "The Scottish Australian Connection..." and assorted pamphlets relating to New South Wales.
Macmillan, David StirlingThis addition to the fonds consists of correspondence, research notes, photographs, manuscripts, and some original historical records relating to Professor David S. Macmillan's work as an archivist at the University of Sydney and his research and publications on Scottish and Australian history.
Macmillan, David StirlingFile consists of drawings done of Trent University's campuses. There are drawings of Peter Robinson College, as well as drawings of different buildings on the Symons Campus. A drawing of Faryon Bridge with Champlain College in the background is also included. Some drawings are aerials of the whole Symons Campus.
