This item is a typescript of an address to the Fortnightly Club by Ralph C. Honey, describing the production of the Centennial book, "Peterborough: Land of Shining Waters." The address was written March 14, 1967.
Fortnightly ClubThis fonds consists of letters to John Erskine from Robert Black, aboard USS Susquehanna, and at Key West, Florida, from between 1860 and 1861, and from US Naval and Treasury Departments, 1864, regarding Black's death. It also contains a scrapbook of miscellaneous clippings, dated 1878, but obviously compiled from the 1850's and 1860's.

Also included is a probate of the will dated March 14, 1857. There is certification by W.F. Johnston, notary public, Peterborough, that the foregoing papers are a true copy of the Letters Probate of Zaccheus Burnham dated May 6, 1889.

Correspondents include W.L. Mackenzie King, Mitchell Hepburn, Maurice Dupre and Hugh Guthrie. Also included is a crown land grant to Joseph Aiott, Smith Township, 1852.

Water Lily (of the Calcutt line), one photograph of the fleet of the Stoney Lake Navigation Company of Young's Point, and a clipping which includes a photograph of the Peterborough hydraulic lift lock.
Mills, A.B.This fonds consists of typescript copies of correspondence of G.M. Roche, October 1859 from Fenelon Falls, and Lindsay, Canada West, relating to the death of his brother John K. Roche, Provincial Land Surveyor, while surveying the Bobcaygeon Road. Also included are extracts from the diary of William Bell, chief chairman of John Roche's party from July 1859 to April 1860. The survey was completed by Mr. Brady, Provincial Land Surveyor, in 1860.
