This fonds consists of 58 volumes of the Peterborough Collegiate and Vocational School yearbook called "The Echoes"; 2 Minute Books for the Girls' Athletic Association from 1908 to 1923; 13 scattered volumes of "Commencement Exercises" between 1937 and 1951; and 1 volume of "Reports of the Business Board of the Collegiate Echoes of the P.C.I." dated 1916-1918. Additional materials were donated by Dr. Fern Rahmel in 2002 on the occasion of the 175th anniversary of P.C.V.S.

This addition to the fonds consists of deeds, correspondence, school workbooks and records from a correspondence course offered in 1933-34 by the University of Toronto. There is excellent correspondence relating to the lives of Annie and Daisy Davidson which describes the lives of young women at the end of the nineteenth century struggling to educate themselves and to find appropriate employment.

This fonds consists of one photograph album, dating from around 1910 to the 1960's. There are assorted programmes and flyers, mostly from Middlebury College, Vermont and this includes programmes for the Coronations of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth. Also included in the fonds is a 1924 newsletter for Franklin Square House (Girls' Home) and the "Second Book of Verse" by Betsey Buttles with some loose greeting cards and poems.

This item is an account book kept by the Grafton Woman's Missionary Society between 1911 and 1926. The Society kept track of expenses, membership and profits. The book has members names and what they paid in membership plus donations from members who were unable to attend meetings. There is also a Treasurer's quarterly report booklet which can be found between the pages of the account book.

Helen Marryat fonds

The fonds consists mostly of Helen Marryat's (nee Helen Fowlds) personal experiences as a nurse in World War I, and her activities as a local historian. There are clippings of her articles in local newspapers, historical maps (drawn by Gerald Marryat) and other materials relating to settlement of Hastings and district such as education and nursing. Also included are the correspondence and photograph collections of her brothers, Donald and Eric (mostly from World War I), and material on Frederick Marryat (1792-1848), navy captain and novelist. In December 2001, Trent University Archives launched an online exhibit which depicts Helen Fowld's experiences in World War I. This addition to the fonds consists of diaries, manuscripts, correspondence, photographs and newspaper clippings of Dorthy Choate Herriman. The fonds includes material on the Canadian Authors Association, Carol Cassidy Coates and other poets and writers. Newspaper clippings, original illustrated layout, biographical information, author's proof and a bound copy of Mater Silva are also included in the fonds. There is also an annotated copy of editor John Garvin's Canadian Poets.

The fonds consists of manuscripts of poetry; printed poems of Alice Roger Collins; and two letters from Alice Roger Collins (October 30, 1946; February 21, 1948) discussing personal matters, post World War II conditions, and her teaching of music at Walkerton, Ontario. The poetry is presumably by A.R. Collins, some of which is dedicated to 'Fergie' - in ink and pencil, and of a religious nature.

This fonds consists of correspondence, newspaper clippings and miscellaneous documents. The creator of the fonds, Charles Latimer is nephew of Donald Sheridan who was a member of the Industrial Workers of the World (the Wobblies). Along with nearly 100 associates, including correspondents represented in this fonds such as David Ingar and Richard Brazier, Sheridan was sentenced to Leavenworth prison for expressing anti-capitalist, anti-militarist opinions during World War I.
