Most of the materials concern the boat Turtle Two which was owned by the Biology Department at Trent University and used for river-based experiments. The word Turtle was derived from Trent University Research and Teaching Laboratory for Experimental Work. The materials cover the years 1968-1973.

Important historical materials relating to the John Beverley Robinson family are included. The fonds also consists of Gilbert's research material as an archaeologist, Stewart's research material relating to her work as an art lecturer, photographs and materials relating to the Bagnani estate, "Vogrie", located in Port Hope, Ontario, and materials concerning Gilbert and Stewart's association with Trent University.

The papers of Box 1, covering the years 1970-1984, concern more than just Lady Eaton College. Apparently records of the Committee on Undergraduate Standing and Petitions were accumulated in the College and are presented here. Similarly, there are records of the Academic Development Committee as well as Lady Eaton Council and Cabinet minutes and Supervisors of Studies materials. Further boxes were added in later years.
