The fonds consists of correspondence and accounts of John Tucker Williams (1841-1854) and of his son Arthur T.H. Williams (1860-1885). Included are leases, deeds and lists of John Tucker Williams' land holdings; correspondence and accounts relating to the Canada Company; material relating to the John Tucker Williams' estate; material relating to the estate of Silas Williams and Company, merchant tailors; and other material relating to various members of the family.

File includes 8 pencil sketches of people, flowers, & farm animals: 2 unsigned; 3 signed "M.E.R." 1 signed "Bessie"; 1 signed "S.E.R."; 1 signed "F.B." and titled "Kate & Pompey in the stable & the other Pompey mending the first Pompey's collar." "The other Pompey" according to Stewart Brown is his grandfather, T.A. Stewart Brown (1852-1936).

Also includes 1 ink sketch unsigned. 1 envelope addressed to Bessie Lydia Stewart.

Also included is a linen-backed map of Ireland "published under the superintendence of the Society for the Diffusion of Useful Knowledge." Sir Francis Beaufort, relative of Frances Stewart, is known to have been involved in the preparation of such maps/atlases published by the above Society

This item is a published print of the Earl of Durham by Hodgson & Graves, London on June 11, 1838. The artists were Sir Thomas Lawrence and C.E. Wagstaff.

The fonds consists of family and related papers of Henry Fowlds and his family including James S. Fowlds and H.M. Fowlds. It also includes business correspondence, invoices, some journals and cashbooks, mortgages as well as deeds regarding the business of Henry Fowlds, Jas. S. Fowlds and Bros. and H.M. Fowlds. In December 2001, Trent University Archives launched an online exhibit which depicts Helen Fowld's experiences in World War I. The fonds consists of two photocopies of drawings of early Peterborough by Edward C. Caddy. The first is a drawing of Conger Hill, 1839-1842, and the second is a drawing of the Courthouse and St. John's Church, 1839.

This item is a letter written by Andrew Mather of Beadnell, 9th Concession, Otonabee Township to his son-in-law Jonathan MacDougall after the death of Mather's daughter. The letter outlines the opportunities open to MacDougall if he were to choose to settle in Otonabee Township. The letter also gives news of neighbours and friends. Included is a transcript and comments regarding MacDougall by Margaret Dunham Vanderploeg, great granddaughter of MacDougall.

File consists of letters dated 13 October 1839; and attached letter by Cumming to Robert Cadill, Bookseller, Edinburgh on same sheet of paper dated 18 October 1839 re problems concerning shipment of Maria's copy of the volumes of memoirs of Sir W. Scott.

The fonds consists of textual records including articles of clerkship (September 19, 1839), indenture (January 25, 1851), requisitions and petitions (February 2,1860 - August 7, 1863), and correspondence. The fonds also includes transcripts on miscellaneous family historical items and two articles from the Globe, July 6 and 7, 1859, on the Ploughboy incident in Lake Huron.
