Rousseau Bicentennial Congress took place at Trent University, Peterborough, Ontario in June 1978, to commemorate the 200th anniversary of noted French philosopher Jean-Jacques Rousseau's death. The Congress was put on by the Philosophy Department of Trent University in conjunction with the Canadian Philosophical Association. It was a bilingual event and many Rousseau experts and enthusiasts were invited from around the world (France, Switzerland, Hong Kong, Canada, and the United States) to present papers on Rousseau. The fonds covers the years 1977-1978.

The word Turtle was derived from Trent University Research and Teaching Laboratory for Experimental Work. The materials cover the years 1968-1973.
