This item is a fire insurance plan of the City of Oshawa. It includes a key plan (scale 1200':01"), a key to the symbols, special diagrams of some buildings, and an index.

The fonds includes photocopies of the following items: Township Patent Book, 1820-1872, including the names of the grantees, lot purchased and dates as well as township/municipal election returns, and oaths of office for 1850. It also includes the correspondence of John Reid, township road surveyor, with elected officials and citizens, including maps, drawings etc.; township business papers, including receipts, taxation abatements, and school business; and Statute Labour lists and returns for the year 1850.

Raper, who died in Township of Cavan, 18 August 1895; and the fourth, of Maria Richardson, wife of John Richardson, who died in Toronto, 28 November 1898, funeral at the residence of her brother, Wm. This fonds consists of materials on the American Canoe Association, compiled by Jean Cole for research on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Regatta at Juniper Point, Stoney Lake. The compilation consists of copies of papers from the American Canoe Association Book, 1883; copies of articles from the Peterborough Examiner concerning the Stoney Lake Meet in 1883 and a 1976 map produced by the Stoney Lake Cottagers Association with an accompanying booklet listing property owners on the lake and the lot locations. Also included in the collection are copies of American Canoe Association yearbooks (1938-1947), some badges, a belt buckle and membership cards.

This collection consists of two photographs and five prints of various towns. The two photographs are of Port Hope and are hand-coloured. One photograph (item #1) is of Trinity College School before the fire. The other photograph (item #2) is framed and matted. It is of Port Hope's harbour taken from the western hill. There is one coloured reproduction print (item #3) of Port Hope which is matted and framed. This print was presented by Mr. and Mrs. M.E. Lewis to Trent University on the occasion of the opening of Bata Library. There is one print (item #4) of Lindsay which was produced in 1882. Another print (item #5) is entitled "Hastings on the Trent, Ont." and was drawn by Rev. M.A. Farrar and lithographed by Brown and Bautz. Item #6 is a framed black and white photograph of an 1832 pencil sketch of Government House in Peterborough which was drawn by Mary Sanford. The last print (item #7) is a framed coloured reproduction print of York from Gibralter Point from 1828.

This item is a minute book of the Agricultural Society of the Township of Smith. This item includes minutes of meetings from January 1855 to October 1904; lists of officers; lists of successful competitors at agricultural shows; and broadsides advertising agricultural shows. The book contains (pasted to the inside back cover) a letter dated May 11, 1887 from A. Blue of the Ontario Department of Agriculture who acknowledges that the Smith, Ennismore and Lakefield Agricultural Society has been duly recognized and incorporated. Reference is made to a certificate from the West Peterborough Electoral District [Agricultural] Society recognizing the Smith Township society.

The fonds consists of textual records including articles of clerkship (September 19, 1839), indenture (January 25, 1851), requisitions and petitions (February 2,1860 - August 7, 1863), and correspondence. The fonds also includes transcripts on miscellaneous family historical items and two articles from the Globe, July 6 and 7, 1859, on the Ploughboy incident in Lake Huron.

This fonds consists of bound volumes of newspaper clippings, mostly concerning the Legislative Assembly of Ontario between 1916 and 1919. Four of the six volumes have the name J.J. Preston inside the front cover. One volume has the name J.C. Elliott on it. Elliott was the member for Middlesex West. The newspapers are from "The Globe" and the "Daily Mail and Empire".
