Shining Waters Presbyterial United Church WomenItem consists of a bound volume of both published and handwritten pages. The published title page reads as follows: "Practical points, or, maxims in conveyancing, drawn from the daily experience of a very extensive practice, by a late eminent conveyancer, Mr. Bradley, to which are added, critical observations on the various and essential parts of a deed. By the Late J. Ritson, Esq, second edition, corrected, London, 1820." Several published pages are interspersed throughout the hand-written pages and are bound together with them. The name Chas. Avery Moore (May 1824) appears a few times near the beginning of the volume, as does the name W.H.I. Vizard. The hand-written pages are an excellent example of exemplary penmanship.
This item is a pencil sketch of Young's Point. On the paper backing of the frame which has been removed the following is written: "Young's Point - Edward Roper c 1882? from his sketchbook, donated by Gordon Roper. Young's Point (north of Peterborough) from Edward Roper's sketch book, 1882, bought through Michael Bell". There is some speculation as to whether the name Edward Roper should have been Edward Caddy.
Caddy, Edward C.This fonds consists of letters to John Erskine from Robert Black, aboard USS Susquehanna, and at Key West, Florida, from between 1860 and 1861, and from US Naval and Treasury Departments, 1864, regarding Black's death. It also contains a scrapbook of miscellaneous clippings, dated 1878, but obviously compiled from the 1850's and 1860's.
