Brown, John QuentinThis collection consists of two legal documents which belonged to Mrs. Friedman's sister. One is an indenture between James Holden and Thomas Westaby of Lincolnshire, dated February 20, 1686. The other is a land grant to Henry Smith, of 200 acres in Garafraxa township, Halton County, dated December 2, 1824 and December 27, 1825.

"The other Pompey" according to Stewart Brown is his grandfather, T.A. Stewart Brown (1852-1936).

Also included is a linen-backed map of Ireland "published under the superintendence of the Society for the Diffusion of Useful Knowledge." Sir Francis Beaufort, relative of Frances Stewart, is known to have been involved in the preparation of such maps/atlases published by the above Society
This fonds consists of two typescripts of diaries written by Captain Thomas G. Anderson. The first diary consists of reminiscences of his early life, covering the years from 1795 to 1800 (10 pages). The second diary was written while Captain Anderson was the visiting Superintendent of Indian Affairs at Cobourg, Canada West from September to December 1849. It includes an account of a journey to settle an Indigenous land claim on Lake Superior and Lake Huron (34 pages).
Anderson, Captain Thomas GummersallFile consists of 5 warrants of distress from Northumberland and Durham (Hamilton Township). One warrant from 1857 uses the name District of Newcastle to refer to the same region. Warrants are for two men, Oliver Stanton (3 warrants) and Thomas Johnson (2 warrants). The warrants all follow the same formal, legalistic style, outlining the debtor, the amount owed, and authorizing the sheriff to seize property up to that value. The verso of each warrant contains a summary of the person charged, amount owed and paid, and date(s).

Brady, CarrieCollection consists of research material documenting the life of William Horsley and his family, from Murray Township, Northumberland County. The research was conducted by Susan Butler, a professional genealogist, for a descendent of the Horsley family, Yvonne A. Green.
This collection consists of two marriage certificates. One is a handwritten certificate documenting the marriage of Charles Luduc and Sarah Walton, officiated by Pastor Michael [Tunlin], and dated 21 January 1868 at Cobourg. The other is a standard printed certificate, dated 28 February 1880 in Peterborough, and documenting the marriage of William Storms and Emma Preston. There is one family name in common on the two documents: Preston.
Preston familyThis collection consists of five receipts from the 1800's. Receipts are from various places such as Port Hope and Lindsay in Ontario and Birmingham, England. The receipts are from people such as J. Huffman, Silvester Richman, The "Canadian Post", A.T.H. Williams, M.P.P. and they are for a variety of services such as parts for farmers' machinery and farm to fixing hinges on a gate and returning socks to a business.

Collection consists of approximately fifty pieces of antiquarian maps, engraved views, portraits and scenes relating to the Red River Settlement of Manitoba and the North West Rebellion of 1885. The engravings reflect the emerging province of Manitoba as seen through the eyes of nineteenth century travellers and historians. Two bird’s eye views are of particular note, the first being a spread of views, buildings and an insert map of Winnipeg dated 1882, and the second being a lithographic bird’s eye view of Winnipeg, 1884, depicting the city in its early development, surrounded by vignettes of local prominent public and private buildings. Also included is a “British America” J. & F. Tallis map with the principle vignette being “Hudson City”, ca. 1849.
Redelmeier, Elizabeth RuthThis collection consists of transcripts of minutes of the Board of Directors' of the Canadian Land and Emigration Company, 1868-1885, and annual reports of Bronson and Weston, lumber merchants, 1876-1884, with whom the Company did business. Also included are excerpts from the diaries of Mr. and Mrs. Charles R. Stewart, agent for the company in Haliburton, and their son Charles E. Stewart, 1865-66 and 1870.

Gummed Address CompanyThis collection consists of a book of typed recipes with "J.R. Ferguson" hand-written on the front cover. Its cover is hand-made with a coloured drawing of a woman carrying a platter with the name . Also included in the fonds is a letter on Hall & Furgason letterhead (Produce Commission Merchants, New York) from a son to his mother dated September 20, 1895. (Note different spelling of the name Ferguson/Furgason).
