This accession consists of one dictionary, of which the title page is missing. The oldest date pencilled in appears to be 1780. Signatures include Robert Stewart, William Reid, Mary Stewart, and John Stewart. The dictionary, referred to as "Old Noah" by the Reid family, was passed down through several generations of Reid family. It originated in Ireland, and was brought to Canada by Robert and Maria Reid.

Ryland, Herman WitsiusItem is a 180-page typescript of an Eskimo-French dictionary written by Arthur Thibert in 1932. An accompanying note written by Mary M. Parsons reads as follows: "While stationed at Eskimo Point N.W.T. where my husband was the O/C the R.C.M.P. detachment, I was requested by the priests of the Catholic mission to type a copy of this dictionary. I would believe this book to be one of the copies I made at that time. Arthur Thibert whose name the manuscript bears, was a priest of the Oblates of Mary Immaculate and was, in fact, the priest who performed our marriage so I got to know him well. My part was done during the winter of 1941-42. [signed] Mary M. Parsons."
Thibert, ArthurFonds consists of a folder of 12 sheets of photographs which show the effects of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Japan in 1945. The 14 photographs are of individuals, and of the landscape of the area. The photographs were issued with the purpose of "calling for the issuance of a bill to protect atomic bomb survivors and calling for a total ban of atomic weapons". (Taken from the folder which encloses the photographs.) The text on the folder and the photographs is written in Japanese.
Recalling Hiroshima and Nagasaki / Issued by the Atomic Bomb Information CenterThis item is a booklet published by Hutchison House Museum, Peterborough, containing The Old Doctor written by Catharine Parr Traill and introduced by Jean Murray Cole. "The Old Doctor" (1985) was probably written between 1835 and 1840 when John Hutchison, a native of Kirkcaldy, Scotland, was practising medicine in Peterborough, Upper Canada.

The name "Stanley McBride, Centreton, Ontario" is found on the fly leaf. Several items listed as sold in the estate auction relate to farming.
Prettie, RichardItem consists of a bound volume of both published and handwritten pages. The published title page reads as follows: "Practical points, or, maxims in conveyancing, drawn from the daily experience of a very extensive practice, by a late eminent conveyancer, Mr. Bradley, to which are added, critical observations on the various and essential parts of a deed. By the Late J. Ritson, Esq, second edition, corrected, London, 1820." Several published pages are interspersed throughout the hand-written pages and are bound together with them. The name Chas. Avery Moore (May 1824) appears a few times near the beginning of the volume, as does the name W.H.I. Vizard. The hand-written pages are an excellent example of exemplary penmanship.
This item is a notebook containing photographs of the Wilson family, King Street, Cobourg. Some photographs were taken in Regina, Saskatchewan. Almost every photograph is identified by subject and photographer, and a few are also dated.

On the paper backing of the frame which has been removed the following is written: "Young's Point - Edward Roper c 1882? from his sketchbook, donated by Gordon Roper. Young's Point (north of Peterborough) from Edward Roper's sketch book, 1882, bought through Michael Bell". There is some speculation as to whether the name Edward Roper should have been Edward Caddy.

The second item is a diary of art history, written from February to July 1912. It includes postcards of works of art and notations relating to the history of art.
Ross, ElsieThis item is a diary of a European tour from 2 July to 4 September 1914, and of boat trip aboard the SS Megantic (Montreal, Quebec, to Liverpool, England). There are also passenger lists, menus, and postcards included in the diary. The diary has some references to the outbreak of World War I, and the removal of British subjects from the continent. There is also one piece of correspondence included dated 6 September 1914. The diary chronicles a tour through England, France, Holland, Belgium, Germany and Switzerland.
