This addition to Professor Denis Smith's fonds consists of records forwarded to the Archives via the office of the Journal of Canadian Studies in 1988 which were apparently generated by Professor Denis Smith. Most files relate to Trent University, its founding and architectural history, and areas of interest to Professor Smith such as the Committee For An Independent Canada and the Canadian Forum.

Fonds consists of records created and accumulated by Lady Eaton College.

The papers of Box 1, covering the years 1970-1984, concern more than just Lady Eaton College. Apparently records of the Committee on Undergraduate Standing and Petitions were accumulated in the College and are presented here. Similarly, there are records of the Academic Development Committee as well as Lady Eaton Council and Cabinet minutes and Supervisors of Studies materials. Further boxes were added in later years.

Also included are offprints signed by their authors, Bryan Reardon, Norma Miller (Bews' Ph.D. supervisor and Ashley Fellow of Trent University 1985-1986), and Konrad H. Kinzl and Herman Pontes (colleagues). This addition to the Professor Denis Smith fonds consists of correspondence concerning Politics courses at Trent University, general correspondence regarding the Department of Politics, correspondence and clippings concerning Ron Thom--architect, John Stubbs, the Liberal Convention of 1968, library matters, Professor Frank Underhill, Trent University clippings, records concerning Lakefield College School, University of Kent, University of Alberta, McGill University and York University.

The records concern all public relations aspects of Trent University and include many fugitive items from other fonds. They were forwarded to the Archives by Jim English. Many files pertain to student activism in the 1960's at Trent and at other universities, and to the Trent University Founding Fund and Development Fund. Information on convocations, text of honorary degree presentations and photographs is included. The dates covered are for the years 1962-1980.

This fonds consists of 4 boxes of materials related to the life and works of Spencer J. Harrison.

Fonds is comprised of personal and professional correspondence, newspaper clippings, honorary degrees and other documents pertaining to the life and career of Thomas H.B Symons. The newspaper clippings are on the subject of French as a second language in Ontario schools, the Sturgeon Falls School Crisis (1971), and the Ministerial Commission on French Language Secondary Education. Some of the correspondence and other documents pertain to the Mulholland Family (1961-1965).

The materials were deposited by the Indigenous Studies Department, Trent University. Some documents were reallocated to the Government Documents section of Bata Library, some were returned to the Indigenous Studies Department, and those deemed to be of archival value are represented herein.
