Items are reproductions of photographs depicting a view of Ashburnham from the tower of St. John's Church, c.1874. The View was constructed from two James Little photographs located at Peterborough Centennial Museum and Archives. One item is a print identified as proof number 9/10; the other is a reduced copy of the View with attached legend showing the names of the buildings.

The two photographs are of Port Hope and are hand-coloured. One photograph (item #1) is of Trinity College School before the fire. The other photograph (item #2) is framed and matted. It is of Port Hope's harbour taken from the western hill. There is one coloured reproduction print (item #3) of Port Hope which is matted and framed. This print was presented by Mr. and Mrs. M.E. Lewis to Trent University on the occasion of the opening of Bata Library. There is one print (item #4) of Lindsay which was produced in 1882. Another print (item #5) is entitled "Hastings on the Trent, Ont." and was drawn by Rev. M.A. Farrar and lithographed by Brown and Bautz. Item #6 is a framed black and white photograph of an 1832 pencil sketch of Government House in Peterborough which was drawn by Mary Sanford. The last print (item #7) is a framed coloured reproduction print of York from Gibralter Point from 1828.
This item is a pencil sketch depicting three houses, each of which has two chimneys, with a continuous fence running along the front of all three. There is a woman, man and child walking towards one of the houses. On the back of the sketch is written "#17140 at Roy's Studio, Peterborough". The sketch is most likely by Rev. Michael Farrar and shows Hastings, Canada West.
This collection consists of 41 reproductions of sketches including Toronto street scenes from 1882, Lindsay, Peterborough in 1882, Belleville, and Kingston, all in Ontario as well as some reproductions from sites in Quebec.
This fonds consists of three photograph albums. The bulk of the photographs are unidentified; however, some of the photographs are apparently members of the Sawers, Crawford, Lawrie, and Beck families. There are some photographs of ranching and farming in Western Canada.

Rush familyThis black and white photograph is of a man in clerical dress and is by the Roy Studio of Peterborough. On the reverse, the name "E.H.D. Hall" (a Peterborough lawyer associated with the firm of Hall, Gillespie) is written in pencil. The subject of the photograph is identified in pencil on the reverse as "Rev. Herbert Simonds [sic] ". Symonds married Emma Boyd, daughter of Mossom Boyd. They had several children including one son, Herbert Boyd Symonds (Boydie). He was killed in W.W.1.

Central Public SchoolThe grasses scrapbook was compiled by Catharine Parr Traill for her friend James Fletcher and given to him 12 January 1894. The inside cover has the following inscriptions: "Grasses from Stony Lake gathered and mounted by Cathe Parr Traill - Aged 92 years." These specimens are from the Island of Minne Wa-Wa and Otter Island. July-September 1893" and "With Mrs.Traill's kind wishes to her much valued and esteemed friend James Fletcher F.S.L.S. & etc. January 12th, 1894". The scrapbook consists of 20 pages, 18 of which have pressed grasses, from the Stoney Lake area of the Island of Minne Wa-Wa and Otter Island, glued onto them. Also included in the scrapbook is a specimen list of the grasses and a photocopy of an article, entitled "Grasses from Stony Lake Gathered and Mounted by Cathe Parr Traill - Aged 92 Years". The article was written by William G. Dore and published in The Ontario Naturalist in 1966.
The framed mosses were gathered by Catharine Parr Traill in the Stoney Lake area. Prior to the Archives receiving this addition, the pages were taken apart, mounted and framed in two frames each containing three pages of mosses; one medium frame containing "Sedges & grass, with mosses, from the bank below the garden at Westove. Gathered and arranged for Katie. With Grandmother's dear love. Oct. 24th, 1889"; and one small frame with Traill's autograph.

Collins, George Barlee, Thomas and Jane Fairbairn, R. Boucher, Katherine Dennistoun, G. Stevenson, H.C. Rogers. Clementi bought the property in 1874.
