Much of the fonds relates to Bowley’s interest and experience in the Women’s Royal Canadian Naval Service and her participation in the Canadian Federation of University Women (CFUW) Peterborough Club. Also included are dozens of Barclay family ancestral letters.

This fonds consists of research in the 19th and 20th century Canadian historical geography, specifically emigration and settlement from British Isles to Upper Canada, the Trent Canal use during WWII, the environmental and cultural consequences of flooding from the Trent Canal dam in the late 19th century, and research on Bon Echo, Algonquin, and Banff National Parks. Research is also included on European migration and land settlement patterns and processes in Cape Province, South Africa in the early 19th century and in Western Australia in the early 20th century. Included in the research materials are several maps, a small collection of photo negatives, and microfilm reels.

Fonds is comprised of 54 audio reel-to-reel tapes created by Lionel Rubinoff; the tapes are recordings of contributions by Professor Rubinoff to CBC Ideas and other CBC programs broadcast in the late 1960s and 1970s. Included are some of Glenn Madill’s employment records, correspondence between Marisa Scigliano and archival repositories, photocopies of articles, personal notes, maps, posters, etc. Included are photographs forming the ‘Moccasin Madness’ and ‘Magnetic Moccasins’ parts of Scigliano’s ‘Moccasin Mania’ exhibit: approximately 33 enlarged mounted colour photographs taken by Scigliano on the Symons Campus, Trent University, in the fall of 2013; 16 enlarged black and white photographs taken by Madill in the 1920s during his northern expeditions (images found through research at the National Research Council).

These papers include research notes, correspondence, interview notes, and background materials for four books: Power to Rise: The Story of The National Ballet of Canada (Toronto: University of Toronto Press, 1996), Lois Marshall: A Biography (Toronto: Dundurn Press, 2010), Passion to Dance: The National Ballet of Canada (Toronto: Dundurn Press, 2011), and Karen Kain: Artistic Director (2019). Fonds includes photographs and textual records about the student life of Brenda Brownlee, Class of 1966, at Trent University. Folders include admission letters and correspondence from Trent university and the University of Toronto, convocation programs (1969, 1970), and Brownlee’s academic records. Also included are production programs for “Gilbert and Sullivan,” “Patience,” and “The Mikado,” along with 13 small black and white photographs of the rehearsal of The Mikado (1970). Fonds consists of correspondence, meeting minutes, and reports that discuss the implementation of a “Radio Forum in the Canadian North” Canada by the IEA, with co-operation from the CBC in Inuvik, Northwest Territories. The purpose of this service was to create a forum for the Inuit to discuss issues they faced as well as positive events. Its additional purpose was to create a medium for dialogue between other Indigenous people, other Northern communities and other parts of Canada. In doing so, it was hoped that Inuit and other Indigenous people in the North would be able to gain social, economic, and political power and autonomy. S trathmere Associates was retained as a consulting firm and provided project management services for the program. The Radio Forum was to use a radio-listening-discussion-action group model, using Alex Sim’s World War Two “Farm Radio Forum” as a guide. Files includes documents on projects undertaken including the MacKenzie Delta Project, Delta Community Action Project (Delcap), and Northern Community Action Program (NORCAP).
