Biographical history
Martha Ann Kidd (nee Maurer) was born October 15, 1917 and currently resides in Peterborough, Ontario. She married Kenneth E. Kidd (late Trent University Professor) in October 1943. She is a well known and respected local historian. As well, she is known for her talents as an author and artist. She is an authority on architecture, particularly the architecture of the Peterborough region. Martha Ann Kidd is a member of the Peterborough Historical Society and of the Friends of the Bata Library. In the past she has also been the chair of the Old Buildings Committee of the Peterborough Historical Society and a member of Peterborough's Local Architectural Conservation Advisory Committee.

This fonds was created by and in the custody of Martha Ann Kidd before it was donated to Trent University Archives.
Scope and content
This fonds consists of the manuscript of the publication "Historical Sketches of Peterborough" by Martha Ann Kidd and Louis Taylor. Also included are unbound sections of the publication, a newspaper clipping, and the invitation list for the book launching.
