Most of the materials concern the boat Turtle Two which was owned by the Biology Department at Trent University and used for river-based experiments. The word Turtle was derived from Trent University Research and Teaching Laboratory for Experimental Work. The materials cover the years 1968-1973.

Many files pertain to student activism in the 1960's at Trent and at other universities, and to the Trent University Founding Fund and Development Fund. Information on convocations, text of honorary degree presentations and photographs is included. The dates covered are for the years 1962-1980.

Queen's-Trent Concurrent Teacher Education ProgramFonds consists of records created and accumulated by Trent University's Department of Philosophy. Most of the material relates to the Rousseau Congress of 1978. Rousseau Bicentennial Congress took place at Trent University, Peterborough, Ontario in June 1978, to commemorate the 200th anniversary of noted French philosopher Jean-Jacques Rousseau's death. The Congress was put on by the Philosophy Department of Trent University in conjunction with the Canadian Philosophical Association. It was a bilingual event and many Rousseau experts and enthusiasts were invited from around the world (France, Switzerland, Hong Kong, Canada, and the United States) to present papers on Rousseau. The fonds covers the years 1977-1978.
