This fonds consists of the administrative and academic records created during Professor Kenneth Kidd's career at Trent University. The fonds has been arranged into three distinct series: administrative, academic, and materials related to the development of the native studies program at Trent University. It includes: committee minutes; correspondence, especially relating to the Departments of Anthropology and Native Studies; and manuscripts of works on glass beads, which were later published. There are also brochures, programs and papers from learned societies.

This addition to the fonds consists of research notes, bibliographic information and manuscript drafts created by Professor Kidd in the course of his work on Paul Kane.

Includes interviews with John Diefenbaker, Dalton Camp and photocopies of many letters and papers from the Diefenbaker Centre, the National Archives of Canada, the Public Record Office and the Kennedy Library.

The materials were deposited by the Indigenous Studies Department, Trent University. Fonds is comprised of 54 audio reel-to-reel tapes created by Lionel Rubinoff; the tapes are recordings of contributions by Professor Rubinoff to CBC Ideas and other CBC programs broadcast in the late 1960s and 1970s. This addition to Professor Denis Smith's fonds consists of records forwarded to the Archives via the office of the Journal of Canadian Studies in 1988 which were apparently generated by Professor Denis Smith. Most files relate to Trent University, its founding and architectural history, and areas of interest to Professor Smith such as the Committee For An Independent Canada and the Canadian Forum.

Also included are offprints signed by their authors, Bryan Reardon, Norma Miller (Bews' Ph.D. supervisor and Ashley Fellow of Trent University 1985-1986), and Konrad H. Kinzl and Herman Pontes (colleagues). The fonds also consists of three bound theses: Some Uses of Archaisms and Archaic Latin Poetry in the Aeneid / by Janet Patricia Bews, 1963 (M.A. thesis); Vergil and Tacitus: An Examination of the Nature and Significance of Vergil's Influence upon the Language and Themes of the Annales / by Janet Patricia Bews, 1966 (Ph.D. thesis); and The Usefulness of Women: Marriage Patterns in the Early Empire as an Indication of Political Change / by Jacqueline Margaret Tinson, 1990 (M.A. thesis). Added in 2012 is a 2000 announcement by Professor Storey of the passing of Professor Bews.
