This fonds consists of a letter by Henry Rowed, census enumerator, to Thomas Ayre, census commissioner for United Counties of Northumberland and Durham, relating to physical characteristics and economic outlook of Seymour Township. There is reference made on the effect of repeal of British corn laws upon winter wheat culture in the township.

Reid family dictionary

This accession consists of one dictionary, of which the title page is missing. The oldest date pencilled in appears to be 1780. Signatures include Robert Stewart, William Reid, Mary Stewart, and John Stewart. The dictionary, referred to as "Old Noah" by the Reid family, was passed down through several generations of Reid family. It originated in Ireland, and was brought to Canada by Robert and Maria Reid.

Chant of the University of Toronto for use by Tuxis boys; a newspaper clipping from "The Globe" dated June 1, 1922, entitled "Spring Stars: Hydra, the Water Snake"; two photocopied pages from R.D. Lloyd's father's Tuxis Manual with the name L. Lloyd, date 1921, and the roster of the "Cree Tribe" at camp along with the "Cree yell".

Item consists of a bound volume of both published and handwritten pages. The published title page reads as follows: "Practical points, or, maxims in conveyancing, drawn from the daily experience of a very extensive practice, by a late eminent conveyancer, Mr. Bradley, to which are added, critical observations on the various and essential parts of a deed. By the Late J. Ritson, Esq, second edition, corrected, London, 1820." Several published pages are interspersed throughout the hand-written pages and are bound together with them. The name Chas. Avery Moore (May 1824) appears a few times near the beginning of the volume, as does the name W.H.I. Vizard. The hand-written pages are an excellent example of exemplary penmanship.

This addition to the fonds consists of photocopies of the original report and field notes of the re-survey of the Bobcaygeon Road, between the Townships of Ridout and Sherborne, in the District of Muskoka and the County of Haliburton. The notes are in diagram form with notations regarding soil and timber. The report and field notes were written by land surveyor E.L. Burgess.

This fonds consists of typescript copies of correspondence of G.M. Roche, October 1859 from Fenelon Falls, and Lindsay, Canada West, relating to the death of his brother John K. Roche, Provincial Land Surveyor, while surveying the Bobcaygeon Road. Also included are extracts from the diary of William Bell, chief chairman of John Roche's party from July 1859 to April 1860. The survey was completed by Mr. Brady, Provincial Land Surveyor, in 1860.

These documents consist of two stapled mimeographed books. The first, dated March 1946 and entitled "The Union of Saskatchewan Indians: The Record of the Establishment of Indian Unity in Saskatchewan" records the minutes of meetings held in Regina, Duck Lake and Saskatoon, and provides names of the Constitution Committee. It also contains reprints of Treaties No.3 and 4. The second book, dated July 1946 and entitled "The Treaties Between Her Majesty, Queen Victoria and The Indians of British North America" contains reprints of Treaties No. 3,4,5,6,7, and 8.
