This fonds consists of: a minute book of Loyal Orange Lodge (Diamond) Number 80, Peterborough, Ontario, containing minutes of both regular and special meetings from January 1874 to September 1900 and membership rolls for the same years: a minute book of Loyal Orange Lodge Number 80 including regular meetings of January 1905 to March 1909; a Blue degree dated March 1905 to June 1906; a Royal Arch Purple degree dated July 1905 to 1908; membership rolls; and the building committee minute book, December 1932 to December 1935.

Covers faded and chipped, small closed pull on front cover repaired on the verso with cello tape, tops of pages 25-42 torn with no loss of text, 2 leaves (p. 21/22, 23/24) contain closed vertical cuts without loss, else good. Passionate arguments for the building of the Pacific railway; McLeod, 1821-99, (aka Britannicus) "was concerned about the future of the Pacific Railway scheme during the tenure of office of the Mackenzie government. During those years he sought to keep the project alive with letters in the press and pamphlets." He lived to see the line completed. Rare. Peel (3) 721. [S409]
The fonds consists of photocopies of the following memoirs of settlement in the Bobcaygeon Area. a) Reminiscence of Mossom Boyd, written down by M.M. Boyd, 1875-1877, typescript copy, 5 pages. b) Manuscript copy of J.W. Bicks "Reminiscences and Memorandum on Coming to Canada in 1837 and Dunsford family in 1838;" gathered 1891 (January 9) 5 pages. c) George Dunsford Reminiscences, taken down by H.J. Wickham, 1894 in Miss Boyd's hand.
