Collection is comprised of approximately 7500 postcards (including some duplicates) pertaining primarily to the former Victoria County (now City of Kawartha Lakes). Dating from about 1900 to 1960, this collection was created by Norbert Erasmus Hyacinth Krommer of Lindsay, Ontario. A few postcards portray photographs of unidentified people, while others include handwritten messages on the reverse along with postal stamps and markings.
Krommer, Norbert Erasmus HyacinthThe fonds consists of photocopies and typescripts of correspondence and journals of Reverend Robert Brooking and his wife Elizabeth relating to his service as a missionary in Africa, in Canada West and in the Hudson's Bay Territory. Also included are reports of the Wesleyan Missionary Society, 1851-1857. Some of the items relate to the Hiawatha and Rama Reserves, and Norway House. The original records date from 1839 to 1879. Also included is a modern print of a photograph of Rev Robert Brooking [ca. 1890] and 3 photographs of Elizabeth's tombstone at Chief Island, Lake Couchiching, Rama Reserve, near Orillia.
Brooking, RobertThis addition to the fonds consists of receipts, recipes, slides and photographs of Dr. Mary Northway and Flora Morrison. There are also records for the production of Echoes and Reflections of Flora Morrison.
Fonds includes miscellaneous accounts, receipts, camping equipment lists, correspondence, insurance policies pertaining to Windy Pine. Also includes a cassette tape recording re: early days at Windy Pine, and a transcription provided in 2014 by Joan McIlwain via Professor Julia Harrison
