    Biographical history

    Jane W. Deyman (nee Curran) was born November 7, 1914 to James W. Curran (see 74-006) and Edith Pratt. She married Harry R. Deyman (1912-1975) and they had three children: Mary, Susan and Peter. Her husband was a supreme court judge for Cobourg and then Peterborough. Jane was the chair of the Board of Directors at the Peterborough Centennial Museum and Archives as well as chair for the Peterborough Historical Atlas Foundation. She was a long time member of the Peterborough Historical Society and volunteered at Hutchinson House. She was an active participant in heritage and humane fields and volunteered her time to numerous heritage activities. Jane Deyman died January 27, 1993.

    Custodial history

    This fonds was created by Jane Deyman in her role as chair for the Peterborough Historical Atlas Foundation. The fonds was in the custody of Jean Murray-Cole before it was donated to the Trent University Archives.

    Scope and content

    This fonds consists of research papers and notes pertaining to the publication of the Peterborough Historical Atlas in 1975 and the subsequent activities of the Peterborough Atlas Foundation.

        General note

        This fonds consists of research notes pertaining to the publication of the Peterborough Historical Atlas in 1975. There are individual notebooks and file folders for each township in Peterborough County. One folder contains material on the Peter Robinson Settlement and lists settlers by name and township. Much of the research material is compliations of information from census and assessments of Newcastle District supplemented with material from Peterborough County and City Directories. There is a loose volume on the shelf made up of the cover for the Atlas and containing galley proofs.
