Administrative history

St. Regis mission was established by the Jesuits for the Iroquois in 1755 in the lower St. Lawrence Valley, Quebec. Today, St. Regis is a reserve mission of Valleyfield parish, located on the St. Regis Reserve, Valleyfield, Quebec.

Custodial history

The fonds was microfilmed by the Archives of Ontario and the microfilm was purchased by the Trent University Archives.

Scope and content

The fonds consists of microfilm copies of letters of priests once in charge of St. Regis Mission, including incoming and outgoing correspondence, written in French between 1767 and 1891.
