Schafer was born in Sarnia, Ontario and is a Canadian composer known especially for his string quartets; he is a pioneer in the area of international sound research and is also an author, educator, environmentalist, literary scholar, and visual artist.
File consists of four copies of the Globe and Mail from May 30, 1997, marking Morningside's final broadcast. Three copies are from Manitoba, one is from Quebec.
