This item is a privately published book inscribed to "my dear friend Mrs. Traill" from "George W. Bridges, Beachly Parsonage June 18, 1862." The book tells of the desertion of Mr. Bridges' wife and the drowning of their daughters in an accident near Jamaica and his efforts to effect a reconciliation.

Item is a letter dated 22 October 1853 from William Morrison, Placer County, California, to his brother, James Morrison, of Dummer Township, Ontario. The letter is written in a black paper covered booklet dated 1851 with the title "Gregory's Express Pocket Letter Book."

This item is an affectionate letter written by John Black from [Stockton] to his wife, Catherine Black, living in Carleton Place, Upper Canada. Black expresses his sorrow at not being able to send money to his wife for such a long time. He indicates the "very hard winter" and problems at his workplace, a "shop in town" which builds wagons, as reasons for not having any money to send.

This letter is a hand copy of an indenture between G.B. Hall, his wife, E.M. Hall, and Zaccheus Burnham, for the sale of lands in Otonabee township.

Royal Navy, London, England," and a stamped credit "Brown 163 High Holborn London" are found on the reverse. The other is a portrait by F.W. Included is a transcript and comments regarding MacDougall by Margaret Dunham Vanderploeg, great granddaughter of MacDougall.
