This series consists of documents written on the growth and development of the Athletics Centre from 1964-2014, including reports, newspaper clippings, and correspondence. The Athletics Department has gone through many periods of transformation. From shared facilities in downtown Peterborough, to a temporary Air Hall, to having a permanent home on the Nassau campus. There was a great need for a designated facility at the Nassau Campus. Budgets initially allowed for a temporary ‘air hall’ to be set up to relieve the need for renting shared facilities in downtown Peterborough. Eventually, a new building was developed on the west bank of the Nassau campus and became the permanent location for the Athletics Centre. This is reflected in the architectural briefs, drawings, research and publications of the development of the Athletics Centre building and services offered.

Fonds is comprised of textual documents and photographs pertaining to Jamaican Self-Help (Peterborough). Included are student papers and Jamaican-generated research papers, mission statement, constitution and by-laws, manuals, tributes to John Ganley, Rosemary Ganley lectures, photographs, reports, policies, press clippings, research, correspondence, and papers relating to several partner developmental organizations.

Fonds is comprised of records created by or collected by Stephen Ogden documenting the Tiny Township Stop Dump Site 41 campaign. Dating 1979 through 2016, it represents a significant episode in Canadian environment activism and is comprehensive in scope. Among the materials included are: notes for speeches; transcriptions of government environmental assessments and WYE Citizens Group meetings; WYE Citizens Group press releases; maps and records of water well locations near Site 41; hydrological and geotechnical records pertaining to the watershed characteristics of the Site 41 area; MOE correspondence and statements relating to proposed dump site management, waste management and related technological considerations; Simcoe County “Corporate Services” records including meeting minutes and agendas, notifications, memorandum, notes, correspondence and emails, and media clippings; court proceedings and legal documents obtained through Freedom of Information requests made by Stephen Ogden; photographs, dossiers for exhibits; audio-visual materials including cassette tapes, VHS tapes, CDs and DVDs.

Fonds consists of correspondence, research materials, drafts of books, articles, magazines, and biographical materials relating to the MacGregor family. Also included are letters of congratulations to Roy MacGregor upon his receiving journalism and book awards; reviews of books by MacGregor; and personal correspondence regarding his books.

Fonds consists of correspondence, photographs, computer tapes, newspaper clippings, speeches, articles, notes, research materials, certificates, name tags, educational records, and employment records pertaining to the life of Don Tapscott both while a student and during his working career.

Fonds consists of photographs (ca. 60) related to the families of Jacob Way (1804-1882), originally of Northport, Prince Edward County, Ontario, and his two sons, Edward Hoag Way (1845-1922) and Gideon Shepard Way (1853-1937). Also included are death certificates, copies of clippings, and detailed typed documents which provide genealogical and biographical information pertaining to each of the families; these were prepared by family descendant, Yvonne A. Green. Ms. Green also provided identification for some of the photographs which had previously been unidentified.

Fonds includes personal and professional correspondence, press clippings, descriptions of benchmark occasions, and award certificates from Storey’s Trent University career, including The Canadian Council for the Advancement of Education Communication Award (1986), the Big Brothers and Big Sisters National Commendation Award (2000), and the Trent University Eminent Service Award (2011). There is also a large photograph album highlighting the 40 years that Tony spent at Trent University. Also included are 12 individual photographs of Storey, including headshots, 1 photo of Storey receiving the Big Brothers and Big Sisters National Commendation Award, and several group photos with unidentified individuals. Additionally, there is professional correspondence related to university matters, alumni associations and events, and the establishment of the Alumni House in Champlain College. There is also personal correspondence between alumni associations, colleagues, and friends, including thank-you cards, e-mails, greeting cards, and event invitations.

Fonds consists of Professor Donald B. Smith's research material pertaining to the eighteenth and nineteenth century history of the Ojibwe of southern Ontario. The research materials consist primarily of photocopies of published articles, bibliographical references, and handwritten notes; included is material related to the Mississauga (Ojibwe) of the Trent River Valley. Interspersed within the files is correspondence with other academics and authors.

This series consists of film, video, and photographs of varsity and intramural athletic events and games at Trent University, including rugby, volleyball, soccer, rowing, cycling, skiing, Head of the Trent, and athletic banquets. Fonds consists of Professor Allan L. Sherwin’s research materials relating to the biography of Bridging Two Peoples: Chief Peter E. Jones, 1843-1909 and the nineteenth and early twentieth century history of the Mississaugas (Ojibwe) of the New Credit First Nation of Hagersville, Ontario. The research materials consist primarily of photocopies of original documents including letters and papers from Library and Archives Canada, the Archives of the Mississaugas of the New Credit First Nation and various other publications. Copies of correspondence between Dr. Jones and Prime Minister John A. Macdonald, copies of The Indian, the newspaper edited by Dr. Jones and writings of various Aboriginal writers are included. Interspersed within the files is correspondence with other academics especially Canadian Historian Professor Donald B. Smith, the author of the classic biography of Dr. Peter E. Jones’s father entitled Sacred Feathers: The Reverend Peter Jones (Kahkewaquonaby) and the Mississauga Indians.

Fonds is primarily comprised of copies of research material. Included are reproductions of genealogical materials related to the Brownscombe family of Peterborough, Ontario, beginning with William Brownscombe (1830-1893), a descendent of Kenneth Brown's wife, Kathleen Brownscombe. Also included is material related to the Haliburton Scout Reserve, the Canadian Canoe Company and the Wm. English Canoe Company.

Fonds is comprised of correspondence, published articles, photographs, slides, and CDs of speeches, interviews, and meetings pertaining to the career of Don Tapscott.

Series consists of files on various projects and research conducted by the Trail Studies Unit. Files include work and projects on the Northumberland Forest, rail trails, trail mapping, university and college trails, and Ontario provincial government grant funded research projects. Series also includes 41 photographs of the Northumberland Forest trails.
