Fonds is comprised of three bound volumes of correspondence, sketches, paintings, diaries, receipts, newspaper clippings, deeds, baptismal and marriage records, family trees, and scrapbooks pertaining to the Wallis family. Included also are several documents pertaining to the Forbes family, related to the Wallis family through marriage. The Peterborough-born sculptress Katherine E. Wallis (1860-1957), whose papers are located in Trent University Archives, was a member of the Wallis family.
The volume spines are inscribed as follows:

• Papers of Louisa Charles John Mary and Adah Wallis 1854-1882 (Vol. I) (Located in Box 1);
• Papers of Louisa Charles John Mary and Adah Wallis 1883-1895 (Vol. II) (Located in Box 2);
• Captain R.M. Forbes, R.N. 1774-1846 and Family (Located in Box 3).
  Fonds is also comprised of typed transcriptions of some of the items; these are located as received within the volumes.

File includes family correspondence, including from H.E. Howard, Marianne Howard (nee Wallbridge), and Lewis Wallbridge.

The fonds consists of a minute book of the directors of Wallace Point Bridge and Road Company, dated 31 October 1886 to 15 June 1879 and a stock book. The fonds also includes a subscription list of the company's stock holders, dated 31 October 1866 and a plan of a bridge under construction, dated 15 February 1867.

File consists of a photograph of John Wales, secretary of the Local 365, Ontario Publc Service Employees Union at Trent University (1997-1999).

File consists of photographs of John Wadland, a professor of Canadian Studies at Trent University for thirty-five years. File also includes a photo with Bill Domm and an article.

File consists of Identical portraits of Hugh Waddell. He was the Chair on the Board of Governors at Trent University (1967-1971). He is the recipient of the Eminent Service Award (1978) and a recipient of an honorary degree (Doctor of Laws) from Trent (1989).

This item is a framed land grant document granting John Meyner one hundred acres of land in Cavan Township and dated 10 October 1821.

The fonds consists of day books, ledger books, dry goods receipts, and records of Robert Waddell of Bailieboro, Canada West and Ontario and Hugh Waddell of Millbrook, Canada West and Ontario. The records consists of property and chattel mortgages.

This item is a letter book containing correspondence relating to the management and operation of the China Hall store in Cobourg, Ontario, and personal business.

This fonds consists of three issues of the University of Manitoba publication VOX which contain stories, poetry, editorials, reports and a graduate section which has photographs of the graduates for the year of publication. In all issues there are short stories and poetry written by Margaret Laurence, under her maiden name of Jean Margaret (Peggy) Wemyss. There is also a photograph of her in one of the issues.
