This fonds consists a photocopy of a manuscript written by de la Fosse describing his brief experience in the Canadian West. There is a short introduction by Sylvia Boorman as well as concluding remarks. Two pages are missing and are mentioned by Sylvia Boorman in her introductory letter which accompanies the manuscript. The introductory letter is dated July 5, 1990.

This item is a photocopy of a letter written by H.H. Stevens January 11, 1968 to a student in History/Political Science 301 in response to questions posed. Stevens writes about the Report of the Price Spreads and Mass Buying Commission, 1934-35, The Canadian Manufacturers Association's complaint, R.B. Bennet's refusal to act, Bennet's removal of Stevens from Conservative Party and the elimination of sweat shop conditions.

This item consists of 2 pages of banknotes printed by the Newcastle District Loan Company in August of 1836.

This collection consists of items taken out from the collection of books from the Margaret Laurence collection at Catharine Parr Traill College. Publications by Laurence which are referred to include "The Prophets Camel Bell", "Long Drums and Cannons", "The Christmas Birthday Story", "The Diviners", "Six Darn Cows" and "Manawaka works". Other records have information which refers to, or are from, Helen Margaret Buss, Philip Shirley, Scott Hutcheson, Angus Mowat, Al Purdy, William Ready, and the book "Poet Cop" by Hans Jewinski.

This fonds consists of six photographs of "Blyth", the home of John Langton and his family. The photos were taken in 1911 and 1912. The home, which has since been demolished, was close to Fenelon Falls on Sturgeon Lake. The people in the photographs are not identified. Written on an envelope, included with the photographs, is "1911 & 1912. Old photos of "Blyth" Given to M. McCulloch by Mrs. [Frances] George Douglas."

This addition to the fonds consists of 10 letters (some fragments) written by Frances Stewart to her granddaughter and relatives in England, concerning her pioneer life in the Peterborough area. There is also one photograph of Harriet as young child which was photographed in London, England (biographical information is written on the back of the photograph).

This item is a report of the selection and despatch of the Irish immigrants that Peter Robinson settled in the Peterborough area in 1825, including names of the ships used, numbers carried, a list of townships in which the immigrants settled and the results of the harvests in 1826. A transcript of the report is included.

This item is a photocopy of an 1840 report written by Henry Ruttan, Sheriff of Newcastle District, as a response to the circular letter of Lord Sydenham. Discussed in the letter are the militia, the roads and other internal improvements, the land granting system, the state of education; the (projected) union of the two provinces and responsible government. Several uncritical pages are missing.

This fonds consists of original manuscripts, research material, correspondence, and transcripts relating to Peter Gzowski and the "Morningside Show" broadcasts of the Canadian Broadcast Corporation as well as photographs of Peter Gzowski and other people. Also included in the fonds are business contracts and correspondence from listeners, to the show, from across Canada. There are also materials relating to Peter Gzowski's radio career.

This fonds consists of assorted records relating to the international rooms at the University of Pittsburg, research notes and material on Cavan Township in Ontario, programs of the Kawartha Summer Theatre, the history of Fraserville pastoral charge, records relating to James Fallis, anatomy overlays "structures of the head", northern housing committee reports and solar energy newsletters.

This addition to the fonds consists of correspondence, interview tapes and drafts of manuscripts written by Scott Young such as Powerplay: The Memoirs of Hockey Czar Alan Eagleson and The Boys of Saturday Night. The fonds also includes interview tapes of Don Cherry, Ron Harrison, Bill Hewitt, and other hockey coaches, players and team owners. There is also an autographed copy of War on Ice; personal correspondence and greeting cards. We have copied out Scott's famous spaghetti sauce recipe (see note below).

This addition to the Professor Denis Smith fonds consists of correspondence concerning Politics courses at Trent University, general correspondence regarding the Department of Politics, correspondence and clippings concerning Ron Thom--architect, John Stubbs, the Liberal Convention of 1968, library matters, Professor Frank Underhill, Trent University clippings, records concerning Lakefield College School, University of Kent, University of Alberta, McGill University and York University.

This addition to the fonds consists of manuscripts of articles for issues of the Journal of Canadian Studies from Volume 22, No. 1, (Spring, 1987) to Volume 26, No. 3 (Fall, 1991). There are also drafts of articles and correspondence concerning film in Canada.

This fonds consists of poems, drafts of poems, clippings, and correspondence of Dorothy Choate Herriman, poet and author of Mater Silva.

This addition to the fonds consists of correspondence, publicity materials, posters, film journals and magazines, buttons, t-shirts, tickets, administrative records and film catalogues of the Canadian Images film festival held in Peterborough annually from 1978 to 1984.

This fonds consists of records of Laura Belle Hodgins who was Chair of the Kitchener, Ontario, Branch of the Women's Voluntary Services from 1942 to 1946; papers and legal documents of Stanley and Laura Belle Hodgins who bought Camp Wanapitei (a wilderness canoe tripping camp) in the mid-1950s; and correspondence, legal records, financial records, and camper, staff and program records of Camp Wanapitei under the directorship of Bruce Hodgins from 1960 to 1985.

This addition to the fonds consists of research notes, bibliographic information and manuscript drafts created by Professor Kidd in the course of his work on Paul Kane.

This fonds consists of correspondence and reports relating to the Mackenzie Valley Pipeline, the Berger Report and inquiry as well as the Committee for an Independent Canada.

This fonds consists primarily of business records of Flavelles Limited. It includes the charter, by-laws and minutes, ledgers, account books, audited statements, stock books and journals. There are also brief historical accounts of the family and the enterprises.

This fonds consists of glass slides which were used as teaching materials at Mount St. Joseph. The subjects include Tennyson: Idylls of the King, 55 slides; physiography, 15 slides; zoology, 5 slides; physics, 4 slides; English and history, 7 slides; and, European history, 6 slides. Ten of the slides in physiography, 2 slides in botany and 1 slide in chemistry were made by high school students in Lindsay.

This fonds consists of the administrative records of the Ontario Research Council on Leisure (ORCOL), minutes and agendas of the board of directors as well as issues of Recreation Review and the Journal of Applied Recreation Research. The records were generated by the Ontario Recreation Research Committee.

This fonds consists of a letter from the Red Cross Headquarters directing its branches regarding the sale of Princess Patricia's miniature portraits, which were used to raise funds for World War I relief. Also included are two identical prints: one is titled "Her Royal Highness Princess Patricia" and the other is signed "Patricia". Both prints indicate "Copyright from a miniature by Mrs. Montagu Marks."

This fonds consists of a dedication program for the cenotaph honouring the heroes of the Great War (World War I) in Millbrook on June 23, 1921. There is also a photograph of the Millbrook Lacrosse Team of 1881 who were the Champions of Central Ontario. The photograph has a list of names affixed to the back of it.

This fonds consists of a dedication program of Hart House at the University of Toronto on 11 November 1919. There is also a souvenir folder regarding the dedication of the Soldier's Tower with a colour etching of the Tower from 5 June 1924.

This collection of small broadsides consists of a Grand Trunk flyer regarding the fares to the Buffalo Pan-American Exposition in 1901; an Orangeville Methodist Church broadside advertising a concert with Myrtel Tellessen Cooke from 1900; and a broadside for the King George Theatre in Cobourg, Ontario, advertising the film "Avenger" which aired before 1920.
