Octavo (24.7 cm x 16.7 cm), pp. 112, original printed pink paper wrappers, stapled binding, frontispiece + 20 inserted plates of photos, huge folding map of townships open for settlement, large folding map of Rainy River district. Covers dust soiled, tanning to margins of text block, with deeper tanning around margins where the folding maps are placed. Otherwise a very good, tight copy a scarce item. "These pages, while applicable in great measure to the whole of the Free Grant Territory, are intended to have special reference to that part of the Algoma District between Sault Ste. Marie and Sudbury, to the part of Nipissing District bordering on the Canadian Pacific Railway, to the Temiscaming Settlement, and to the Rainy River District, including the Thunder Bay District and the Wabigoon Settlement on the C.P.R. (in connection with the Government Pioneer Farm); all of which Districts are now easily accessible by railway or steamboat." [2229]

Covers lightly dust soiled, some fading to spine and edges, 1 cm tear at head of spine along joint (not chipped), tiny corner curl, short (1.5 cm) closed tear at bottom edge of front cover, some tanning to margins of title-page (surrounding folded map). Otherwise a very good, tight copy of a scarce item. "It is the object of this pamphlet to render better known the capabilities of those parts of our undeveloped lands which for brevity's sake we are accustomed to call our Northern Districts,--namely, Eastern Algoma, North Nipissing, Temiscaming and the Rainy River country.
