Administrative history

In 1948, the camp at Bark Lake was started as a wilderness camp for boys and was financed through the government of Ontario. In 1953, girls were admitted, and the camp operated in July for girls, and in August for boys. In 1969 the Leadership Camp was established to teach youth leadership skills. The camp was later closed [1993].

Custodial history

This fonds was in the custody of Ken Cressman before it was donated to Trent University Archives. Additional materials (17 framed and matted photographs) in the custody of John McCutcheon were added in 2002.

Scope and content

This fonds consists of administrative papers of the OCLC, and includes lists of staff members as well as delegates for programs. It also includes an extensive collection of staff photos as well as photos of camp buildings, etc. Also included are maps of the camp, and papers related to programs.
