Boyle, 1842-1911, self-taught archaeologist and ethnologist became an authority on the archaeology of Ontario , and was appointed curator of the museums of the Canadian Institute and the Ontario Dept. of Education.

Both upper and lower cover detached but present, signatures a little loose but holding, spinestrip chipped, paper tanned around margins. Quite scarce. Louis Vauxcelles (1870-1945) was an influential French art critic. To him are attributed the terms Fauvism (1905), and Cubism (1908). [2693]
