Collection consists of genealogical material collected by Pat Bolger for her research on Percival J. Cooney (1871-1932) who wrote Kinsmen, published originally in 1916 and then reprinted in 1992. Cooney was born in Peterborough, Ontario. One of his brothers, Franklin Cooney, became Governor of Montana.

Folder 1 contains textual records, photocopied newspaper articles and genealogical charts. Folder 2 contains photographs of the Cooney family.

File includes annotated copies of The Echoes (1948, 1949, 1950, 1951), the yearbook of Peterborough Collegiate and Vocational School; a photograph of Pat Bolger (n.d.); a newspaper clipping regarding Bolger winning a PCVS scholarship (date unknown); and a reproduction of a [19th-century] pencil drawing titled "County Court-House and Jail, Peterborough"
