Fonds is a research collection comprised of handwritten notes, newspaper clippings, photocopies of published and primary materials, transcriptions of letters, video and cassette tapes. Subject areas pertain primarily to Catharine Parr Traill, Susanna Moodie, Robertson Davies, and a conference held at Trent University in honour of Timothy Findley (1997). Also included are handwritten notes, correspondence with researchers, publishers and editors, and copies of talks, papers and manuscripts by Professor Peterman.

Fonds is comprised of materials pertaining to the life and career of playwright and author Munroe Scott. Included are miscellaneous correspondence files as well as manuscripts, correspondence, copyright permissions, research files, publicity materials, and reviews pertaining to his several books and plays. Included are 39 cassette tapes (and transcripts) of interviews by Munroe Scott with Dominion Sculptor Eleanor Milne and with authors, artists, and academics associated with Milne's work.

This fonds consists of personal correspondence written by and to writer and editor Betsy Struthers concerning publications, teaching and editorial work. This fonds consists of research material for the book South Monaghan: The Garden of Eden by Jean Murray Cole, 1998. Included are transcripts of interviews, photographs, correspondence, receipts, and publicity materials, etc.

This fonds consists of miscellaneous designs by Cooper & Beatty, Limited, Toronto, for advertisements, invitations, cards, etc. Also included are various designs with the Trent University crest, as well as Cooper & Beatty's "The Metal Book" with available type settings on metal plates.

Item consists of the uncorrected manuscript proofs of The Cunning Man: A Novel written by Robertson Davies (1913-1995), and published in 1994 by McClelland & Stewart Inc.

The collection consists of photocopies, originals and typescripts, brought together by Howard Pammett, of newspaper articles and unpublished articles on a variety of subjects such as Mossom Boyd, lumbering in the Kawarthas, Katherine Wallis, Peterborough Canoe Company, Trent Valley Navigation Company, and steamboats on the Trent-Severn system. The newspaper articles are from the "Progress of Peterborough" series by Pammett (Peterborough Examiner, 1950-51). The unpublished articles are "A Survey of Kawartha Lumbering 1815-1965" by Pammett and "The Peterborough Canoe" by Donald Cameron. There is also correspondence of Katherine Wallis, Mossom Boyd, and the Trent Valley Navigation Company.

This item is a corrected carbon text of Peterborough's Architectural Heritage edited by Martha Kidd and published in 1978.

Peterborough's Architectural Heritage was written by Martha Ann Kidd and published by the Peterborough Architectural Conservation Advisory Committee in 1978. The Peterborough Architectural Conservation Advisory Committee was established through a by-law made by the City of Peterborough after the Ontario Heritage Act of 1974 was passed by the Province of Ontario. Committee members consisted of Victor Barry, Edgar J. Boland, Teresa Bradburn, Eric V. Jackson, Martha A. Kidd, J.J. Overvliet, Eldon P. Ray, Jennie Spurway, Margaret Fleming and Betty Ross. The committee developed a number of guidelines for its activities and set out to compile a list of pre-1890 structures within the boundaries set by the Otonabee River, Parkhill Road, Park Street and Townsend Street. The list consists of photographs of the buildings and text containing information about the buildings architectural style and information about most of the homeowners. The list was compiled in order to aid Peterborough City Council in determining whether a permit for drastic exterior alteration or demolition should be issued for any of the properties. This item is a typescript of an address to the Fortnightly Club by Ralph C. Honey, describing the production of the Centennial book, "Peterborough: Land of Shining Waters." The address was written March 14, 1967.

This fonds consists of four typed manuscripts written by George H. Young for his children in [1913]. The titles of the manuscripts are as follows: "Historical Paper No. 1. Notes of 1869-70. The Red River Settlement at times spoken of as Fort Garry" (33 pages); "Historical Paper No. 2. The Fenian Raid of October 1871 into Manitoba" (21 pages); "Historical Paper No. 3. Being the first paper of the rebellion of 1885" (22 pages); "Historical Paper No. 4. Re. The half breed and Indian insurrection of 1885" (22 pages). There are references throughout to Louis Riel.

This fonds consists of two binders enclosing the typescript of a narrative called "Rivers of Ice, the Voyage of Captain George Tyson." When the safety of the ship is threatened by being crushed in the ice, a contingent take refuge on a large ice floe. The narrative follows their vicissitudes and ultimate rescue.

This addition to the fonds consists of bird spotting forms for the Ontario Breeding Bird Atlas and Ontario Breeding Bird Atlas error forms. Also included in the fonds are numerous publications and newsletters from various naturalist clubs across Ontario.
