The fonds consists of a memoir (photocopy, 8 pages) on Sir MacKenzie Bowell (1823-1917) by his private secretary; and an anonymous scrapbook of clippings relating to Canadian Railways, Laurier, Bourassa, Canadian nationalism and annexationism.
Kayser, E.This collection consists of 81 reproduction prints of original engravings of political figures removed from books. Most of the political figures are nineteenth century public figures such as George Brown, General Simcoe, Lord Durham, Robert Baldwin, Sir John A. Macdonald, Louis Lafontaine, Guy Carleton, Egerton Ryerson and William Lyon Mackenzie.
Fonds consists of two letters addressed to J.W. Curry from The General Reform Association for Ontario, requesting that he speak at upcoming meetings; one letter addressed to J.W. Curry from A.J. Reynolds concerning a convention at which a few divisions were not represented; and one letter which is a High Court of Justice exhibit and is addressed to a Mr. Clancy from M.F. Smith, Tremont House, Toronto, and discusses Smith's inspection of cases of corn.

His papers contain a form letter from the Canadian Pacific Railway dated April 3, 1900; a letter dated October 10 from S.A. Cunningham threatening to withdraw his support for Graham in the next election and a cancelled cheque from Graham and Dougall McQuaig to E.H. Henry dated October 10, 1899.

This fonds consists of legal documents which are mostly protests against Alexander McIntosh for promissory notes that were not honoured. The protesters are local Peterborough businesses and banks. There are also by-laws and other documents of a legal nature from North Monaghan township including some information on School Sections Nos. 1-4 and a class list for School Section No. 3.
McIntosh, AlexanderThis fonds consists of correspondence, a petition, and an election poster. One item, the letter of 1827, relates to another Haultain, perhaps Major-General F.M. Haultain. The remainder relates particularly to F.W. Haultain's military and political careers.
Haultain, F.W.This item is a 16-page compilation of letters and excerpts from letters gathered in response to an attack on the Department of Education contained in a 24-page pamphlet written by G. Mercer Adam, a bookseller in Toronto. The first section contains three letters by Rev. Dr. Egerton Ryerson. The second section contains replies from public school inspectors, while the third section contains responses by J. George Hodgins, manager of the depository, and remarks and opinions of school trustees.
The principal correspondent in the "Attack on the people's depository for Ontario", Rev. Dr. Egerton Ryerson, was the Chief Superintendent of the Department of Education of Ontario. It was under his guidance that the educational system for the province was established.
The fonds consists of photocopies of letters to George Campbell, mostly from Alex. and James Campbell from Manitoba, outlining working and living conditions in the aftermath of the Red River Rebellion. The letters contain comments on the ethnic nature of the population, farming prospects, and the election riot of November 1871. The letters were written between October 30, 1870 and October 5, 1874.

Ryland, Herman WitsiusItem is an original handwritten manuscript of the proceedings of the British Parliament during the reign of James I, dated February 1620 to December 1621. The manuscript is written on rag paper and is 117 pages in length. It is bound in half-calf, and the spine has the inscription: "Phillips MSS 3093." The binder's ticket on the inside cover has the inscription: "Bretherton ligavit 1848."
British ParliamentThis item is a bill/receipt that was issued on October 1st, 1757 and payable on August 27, 1759 for 900 pounds (livres). The money was to go pay for the general expenses of the colony at Quebec. The document was issued by Monsieur de Boullougne, chief-treasurer or paymaster for the colonies. It was signed in Paris by Boullougne, by the Intendant de la nouvelle France and a witness.
The fonds consists of correspondence received by Emmett Sheehy relating to cases of various prisoners in which Sheehy was interested and to the sale of Canadian wheat to Britain, from 1931 to 1939. Correspondents include W.L. Mackenzie King, Mitchell Hepburn, Maurice Dupre and Hugh Guthrie. Also included is a crown land grant to Joseph Aiott, Smith Township, 1852.
Sheehy, Emmett F.This item is an indenture between the Duke of Marlborough and Robert Wroth, for supplies received from regimental stores to aid in tracing deserters. Wroth was adjutant to Governor Phillip's regiment.

Notation on the back of this item indicates that this copy of the by-law was submitted as evidence in the case of Cumming vs. Faucher, March 16, 1872.
Peterborough by-law no.231 broadsideThis fonds consists of two typescripts of diaries written by Captain Thomas G. Anderson. The first diary consists of reminiscences of his early life, covering the years from 1795 to 1800 (10 pages). The second diary was written while Captain Anderson was the visiting Superintendent of Indian Affairs at Cobourg, Canada West from September to December 1849. It includes an account of a journey to settle an Indigenous land claim on Lake Superior and Lake Huron (34 pages).
