Lake Champlain. 8 Holland, Samuel, 1728-1801. A chorographical map of the country between Albany, Oswego, Fort Frontenac, and Les Trois Rivieres, exhibiting all the grants made by the French governors on Lake Champlain and between that Lake and Montreal. Drawn from authentic surveys by Thomas Jefferys, Geographer to His Majesty. London, 1775. Title in one long line along the top outside the border line. Subsidiary title of a two sheet map: The Provinces of New York and New Jersey ... and the Governments of Trois Rivieres and Montreal. Drawn by Capt. Holland. Sanson, geographe ordinaire du Roy. A Paris, chez H. Jaillot, joignant les grands Augustins aux deux globes, 1674. Coloured in outline. Large title cartouche and cartouche of scales both uncoloured. Copy of the first edition only a few copies of which are recorded. California is copied from Sanson's 1656 map. The remainder of the map is based on Sanson's 1669 Map. Omits Montreal. Map also has cartouche: To the right Honble the Lords Comission for Trade and plantations. No author given. Phillips notes the map was probably inserted. Appears to be based on Thomas Jefferys' map of 1750

A new map of the Province of Lower Canada, describing all the seigneuries, townships, grants of land, etc. to which is added a plan of the rivers Scoudiac and Magaguadavic, surveyed in 1796, 1797 & 1798 by order of the Commissioners appointed to ascertain the true River St. Croix intended by the Treaty of Peace between His Britannic Majesty and the United States of America. London, William Faden, April 12, 1813. Not in Phillips. This is another issue, without any changes except the date imprint of a map first published August 12, 1802

[Venice? 1565?] Woodcut plan of the town of Hochelaga as described by Cartier who visited in 1535. One of earlier printed maps of Canada and the first one ever to use "Montreal" as a name, printed here as "Monte Real". Illustrations show the Indigenous village and stockade and meeting the French. Ross Irwin fonds

This fonds consists of research materials collected by Professor Ross Irwin for his book on Mariposa Township, Victoria County. Material added August 1992 includes a copy of Mariposa: The Banner Township and a series of 8 scrapbooks created by Mrs. Alex McIntyre of Oakwood, Ontario and donated via Professor Irwin. Additions of 1994 include slides of Lindsay, Ontario and other scenes in Victoria County taken in approximately the 1960s. Additions of 2002 include 2 notebooks of Robert Irwin, Cambray. Additions of 2010 include studio portraits of ancestral family members. Additions of 2012 include items related to the history of the Wakelin family and a scribbler with house-building notes.

The fonds consists of photocopies of records relating to boats on the Trent waterway including a typescript of a list of boats, a typescript of an article title the "Trent Canal System: Peterborough Hydraulic Lift Lock", a map of the Trent-Severn waterway, two photographs of the S.S. Water Lily (of the Calcutt line), one photograph of the fleet of the Stoney Lake Navigation Company of Young's Point, and a clipping which includes a photograph of the Peterborough hydraulic lift lock.
