Fonds consists of records documenting Peter Gzowski’s professional activities as the host of CBC’s Morningside (predominant 1997) as well as his annual charity golf tournament, the Peter Gzowski Invitational (PGI) (1986-2010). Gzowski’s personal life and education is also documented, as well as Gzowski family history from 1813-2002.

Professional activities documented include researching and producing Morningside and ongoing work related to other CBC programming. Correspondence includes listener letters and internal communications within CBC. Research and production material include show notes, logs, drafts, scripts, and handwritten notes. PGI material includes copies of poems from PGI events, photographs, ads and programs, and limited correspondence.

Personal activities documented include Gzowski’s undergraduate studies, honours and awards received throughout his schooling and professional life, projects such as research into Stephen Leacock, and Gzowski’s death in 2002. Material documenting Gzowski’s undergraduate studies include photographs and course essays. Awards include The Canadian Journalism Foundation lifetime achievement award and an honourary LL.D. degree from the University of Western Ontario. Research material includes correspondence, drafts, notes, and photocopies of published material. Gzowski’s death is documented through several volumes of memorial books.

Gzowski family history documented include genealogies, education, and personal relationships. The professional life of Peter Gzowski’s paternal great-aunt, Hope Morgan, as a soprano is also documented. Correspondence includes letters from Peter Gzowski’s mother, Margaret Young, to her own parents; letters between Gzowski’s paternal grandparents, Vera Gzowski and Harold N. Gzowski; and letters between his father, Harold E. Gzowski and his paternal grandparents. Photographs include portraits, some framed, of Gzowski’s paternal relatives. Research material related to Gzowski family history includes correspondence, photographs, and photocopies of published material, especially about Sir Casimir Gzowski, Peter Gzowski’s paternal great-great-grandfather.

Topics covered on the tapes include the Trent Canal, lumbering, early medicine and dentistry in Peterborough County, Indigenous history and culture, mills and so forth. Fonds consists of scrapbooks, archaeological photographs, and research papers generated primarily by Gilbert Bagnani. The fonds also includes earlier World War I military photographs generated by Ugo Bagnani. Some of the photographs show Mrs. Bagnani in court dress. Also included are Stewart Bagnani bridal photographs.

The fonds consists of the correspondence and manuscripts of the Peterborough author and teacher, Francis J.A. Morris, primarily relating to his interests in botany, entomology, and classical and modern literature. The papers include both prose and poetry selections, some of which are unpublished. Morris wrote for diverse journals, among them the Canadian Forum, and the Canadian Entomologist. Also among the papers are published copies of some of his works, and copies of the works of other authors, mainly in the field of natural science and botany or entomology. There are photographs included, some of which are reproduced here.

Fonds consists of travel brochures, postcards, correspondence, publications, photographs, and journals that document the Marnie McCulloch’s travel throughout Canada and Greenland. She visited Australia, British Columbia, Northern Manitoba, Hudson’s Bay, Greenland, the Northwest Territories, and Yellowknife . Fonds includes brochures, travel journals, newspaper clippings, postcards, and pamphlets about Inuit, Aboriginal Australian, and Haida art, which she collected in her travels.

Fonds also include essays written by Marnie McCulloch on the topics of her travels, Northern Canada, Northwest Coast First Nations, and other topics.

Fonds consists of personal records of Thomas H.B. Symons relating to his career and to his family. Included are records of his wife, Christine Symons, his children, Mary, Jeffrey, and Ryerson Symons, his father, Harry Lutz Symons, including his father's manuscript for "Three Ships West", and his mother, Dorothy Sarah (Bull) Symons. Also included are materials relating to Professor Symons' activities on various boards and committees, addresses, articles, manuscripts, typescripts, and correspondence, documents and notes concerning Trent University, Association of Commonwealth Universities, Celanese Canada, Science Council of Canada, Department of External Affairs, Royal Society of the Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council, etc.. Also included are photographs of Thomas H.B. Symons, Christine Symons, and His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales.

Fonds consists of records documenting Dale Standen’s activities as a postsecondary student and professor. Files include personal and professional correspondence, lecture notes, and teaching background material with focus on Canadian history post contact, the fur trade, and New France. Fonds is arranged into three series: Correspondence and Trent University activities; Lectures notes for classes at Trent University and Vancouver City College; and Postsecondary coursework and essays.

This addition to the fonds consists of articles and booklets written by Frank Morris; manuscripts and published articles by Douglas Sadler; correspondence, minutes of meetings relating to Sadler's involvement in environmental and naturalist issues and activities; correspondence relating to Teacher's College and several issues of the Young Naturalist. File consists of material compiled for a project on the history of Camp Wangoma, including 12 editions of a newsletter, "Wangomatters - 50 years - Before the Memories Fade" and a written history of the camp. Files are available in both paper and digital form.

Collection consists of unpublished and published research papers of a more general nature by faculty and students, particularly students in applied history classes such as HIST 475.

File consists of a program for "Two Evenings of Opera Excerpts" by The Opera School of the Royal Conservatory of Music of Toronto. Stewart Bagnani was a costume designer and wardrobe supervisor for the organization in the late 1940s. Also included in the file is a letter from Elisabeth Bacque providing context for the donation.

File includes 9 black and white photographs and 2 negatives of archaeological sites taken by Verschoyle Blake during a trip in Greece with Gilbert Bagnani and his mother in the Spring of 1923. Also included is a letter from Constance Marani to her friend Hester Thom dated 1 March 1926. Also, two typed pages of notes compiled by the donor and titled “Letter, March 1 1926 from (Ethel) Constance Marani née Blake, 1896-1979” with a genealogical focus, and “Verschoyle Benson Blake 1899-1971”, also with a genealogical focus. Verschoyle Blake helped the Bagnanis, Gilbert and Stewart, whose papers are located in Trent University Archives, with the architectural design of a library in their Port Hope, Ontario house, Vogrie.

This fonds consists of minute books of the Loyal Orange Lodge No. 321 Downers Corners, Otonabee Township. Included are: 1) Minutes of the Royal Blue, Royal Purple, and Royal Arch Purple degree meetings, May 1914-August 1920; 2) Minutes of the Royal Blue degree meetings, October 1921-July 1923, and October 1940-April 1949; 3) Minutes of regular meetings July 1949-December 1952; 4) Minutes of regular meetings, April 1953-March 1955.

A reproduction (34 cm x 121 cm) of an original two-piece mural painted in 1941 by artist Frederick Hagan (1918-2003). The mural depicts various camp activities; reproductions were made in recognition of the camp's 100th anniversary celebrated in 2010.
