This collection consists of the following documents: a deed from Gilbert Bogart and Cornelius Van Horn to Gilbert A. Clapp, Adolphustown Township, 1827; deed from Azel Hawkins to John Brown, Hope, 1830; deed from Luke Bedford to John Brown, Hope, 1830; deed from John Megrath to John Donaldson, Otonabee, 1836; deed from Joseph Clarke to John Brown, Hope, 1838; deed from John Potter to Philip Potter, Darlington, 1840; deed from John Kennedy to James Crofts Kennedy, Port Hope, 1864; conditions of sale document re Alexander Lackie, Millbrook, with poster attached, 1887. The John Brown mentioned in three of the documents was an important merchant in Port Hope and a member of the Assembly of Upper Canada.

Item is an advertisement for the Golden City steamer which operated between Lakefield, Ontario, and Mount Julian, and Katchawanooka, Clear, and Stony Lakes near the end of the 19th century.

This fonds consists of correspondence, an early version of the manuscript of Our Forest Home, and a copyright document for Our Forest Home. Also included are drawings, a painting, and house plans.

This item is a letter book containing copies of letters from Arthur T. Ogilvy, a Toronto businessman, to businessmen in the Port Hope and Peterborough area, as well as family. Most of the correspondence concerns properties, deeds and mortgages in those areas

(22 cm x 15 cm), pp. 56, blue printed paper wraps, stapled binding, 4 illustrations with illustration of bull on lower cover. Some fading at the spine with a bit of rust to the upper and lower covers at the staples, else very good, clean copy. In the Intro, Mossom Boyd & Co. explain their regret in getting out of the business, and would only be keeping one bull and five or six females to form the nucleus of a future herd. 65 lots for auction, in groups of Females and Bulls with the pedigrees of each animal. Octavo. (23.8 cm x 15.7 cm), pp. 15, printed self-wraps, pamphlet-stitched binding. Covers dust soiled, covers detached but present, lightly chipped, light vertical crease down centre where pamphlet was obviously folded, tanning to text margins, else a good copy of a rare Canadian pamphlet. [2233]

Fonds consists of one diary belonging to Hugh Caldwell, (Clydesdale Post Office), Chandos Township. Notes inside the cover indicate that Caldwell purchased Lots 16 & 17, 13th Concession, Chandos Township, Peterborough County, on 26 November 1872. Caldwell notes the dates he planted his garden and the varieties of vegetables planted.
