This fonds consists of typescript copies of correspondence of G.M. Roche, October 1859 from Fenelon Falls, and Lindsay, Canada West, relating to the death of his brother John K. Roche, Provincial Land Surveyor, while surveying the Bobcaygeon Road. Also included are extracts from the diary of William Bell, chief chairman of John Roche's party from July 1859 to April 1860. The survey was completed by Mr. Brady, Provincial Land Surveyor, in 1860.

The 1915 diary deals mainly with recruiting men from Simcoe County. The 1917 diary describes an instructional tour of the trenches in France, time spent in England, and his return to Canada. Leslie and Cecil Frost are mentioned in these diaries.

This item is a photocopy of a letter of J. Brown to his nephew Archibald Brown of Kittley, near Smith's Falls, Canada West, dated December 30, 1845. Comments on family matters, crops, number of shops, saw mills and foundries in Peterborough are written in the letter.

This collection is a series of 25 scrapbooks. Twenty-three of the books chronicle the history of Arbor theatre and 2 relate to the youth theatre company Acorn. The collection was amassed by Ms. Elaine Goselin, longtime volunteer with Arbor. Goselin collected all play bills, donor and membership material, newspaper clippings, play reviews, biographies of performers and so forth. Arbor theatre Company was started in Peterborough Ontario in 1976. John Plank was the first Artistic director.

Johnston, notary public, Peterborough, that the foregoing papers are a true copy of the Letters Probate of Zaccheus Burnham dated May 6, 1889.
