This addition to the fonds consists of correspondence, interview tapes and drafts of manuscripts written by Scott Young such as Powerplay: The Memoirs of Hockey Czar Alan Eagleson and The Boys of Saturday Night. The fonds also includes interview tapes of Don Cherry, Ron Harrison, Bill Hewitt, and other hockey coaches, players and team owners. There is also an autographed copy of War on Ice; personal correspondence and greeting cards. We have copied out Scott's famous spaghetti sauce recipe (see note below).

This fonds consists of assorted records relating to the international rooms at the University of Pittsburg, research notes and material on Cavan Township in Ontario, programs of the Kawartha Summer Theatre, the history of Fraserville pastoral charge, records relating to James Fallis, anatomy overlays "structures of the head", northern housing committee reports and solar energy newsletters.

This fonds consists of original manuscripts, research material, correspondence, and transcripts relating to Peter Gzowski and the "Morningside Show" broadcasts of the Canadian Broadcast Corporation as well as photographs of Peter Gzowski and other people. Also included in the fonds are business contracts and correspondence from listeners, to the show, from across Canada. There are also materials relating to Peter Gzowski's radio career.

This item is a photocopy of an 1840 report written by Henry Ruttan, Sheriff of Newcastle District, as a response to the circular letter of Lord Sydenham. Discussed in the letter are the militia, the roads and other internal improvements, the land granting system, the state of education; the (projected) union of the two provinces and responsible government. Several uncritical pages are missing.

This item is a report of the selection and despatch of the Irish immigrants that Peter Robinson settled in the Peterborough area in 1825, including names of the ships used, numbers carried, a list of townships in which the immigrants settled and the results of the harvests in 1826. A transcript of the report is included.

This addition to the fonds consists of 10 letters (some fragments) written by Frances Stewart to her granddaughter and relatives in England, concerning her pioneer life in the Peterborough area. There is also one photograph of Harriet as young child which was photographed in London, England (biographical information is written on the back of the photograph).

This fonds consists of six photographs of "Blyth", the home of John Langton and his family. The photos were taken in 1911 and 1912. The home, which has since been demolished, was close to Fenelon Falls on Sturgeon Lake. The people in the photographs are not identified. Written on an envelope, included with the photographs, is "1911 & 1912. Old photos of "Blyth" Given to M. McCulloch by Mrs. [Frances] George Douglas."

This collection consists of items taken out from the collection of books from the Margaret Laurence collection at Catharine Parr Traill College. Publications by Laurence which are referred to include "The Prophets Camel Bell", "Long Drums and Cannons", "The Christmas Birthday Story", "The Diviners", "Six Darn Cows" and "Manawaka works". Other records have information which refers to, or are from, Helen Margaret Buss, Philip Shirley, Scott Hutcheson, Angus Mowat, Al Purdy, William Ready, and the book "Poet Cop" by Hans Jewinski.

This item is a photocopy of a letter written by H.H. Stevens January 11, 1968 to a student in History/Political Science 301 in response to questions posed. Stevens writes about the Report of the Price Spreads and Mass Buying Commission, 1934-35, The Canadian Manufacturers Association's complaint, R.B. Bennet's refusal to act, Bennet's removal of Stevens from Conservative Party and the elimination of sweat shop conditions.

This fonds consists a photocopy of a manuscript written by de la Fosse describing his brief experience in the Canadian West. There is a short introduction by Sylvia Boorman as well as concluding remarks. Two pages are missing and are mentioned by Sylvia Boorman in her introductory letter which accompanies the manuscript. The introductory letter is dated July 5, 1990.

This item is a photocopy of an 1870's recipe book entitled Five Hundred Dollars Worth of Knowledge for One Dollar: Great Exposure of Liquors and Recipe Book by Charles H. Hagar. The book was published in Binghampton, New York and contains recipes for alcoholic drinks and sundry other recipes for things such as hair tonic, sore throats, pain killers and others.

This item is a photocopy of a booklet published by the Toronto Daily News in 1885. Its subject matter depicts Toronto's night life.

This collection consists of voters lists for various townships in Peterborough, Durham, Brant and Hastings counties such as Asphodel, North Monaghan, Otonabee, Harvey, Burleigh and Anstruther, Dummer, Hope, Brantford, Onondaga, the Town of Paris and Sidney.

This collection consists of municipal proceedings published in pamphlet form from various townships and counties in Ontario.

County and township proceedings, minutes and financial statements are usually produced approximately once a year in a published format. They are distributed to citizens who want an accounting of the county and township councils activities and expenditures.

This collection consists of eighteen prize lists from agricultural fairs in Ontario including the Canadian National Exhibition, the Ontario Provincial Winter Fair, the Central Canada Exhibition in Ottawa, the Western Fair in London, Ontario; the Dominion Exposition in Regina, Saskatchewan; the Canadian Industrial Exhibition in Winnipeg, Manitoba; the Central Exhibition in Cobourg, Ontario and various small town agricultural societies lists.

Agricultural fair prize lists were produced in advance of the fair in order to attract people to compete in various categories. The categories consisted of a number of different elements that were part of agricultural life for a number of people. For instance categories included entries of the best cow or calf, horse showmanship, poultry, pig and sheep breeds. Produce competitions ranged from wheat, barley, rye, corn and oats to homemade pickles, jams and jellies. There were usually floral arrangement and best vegetable arrangement competitions. Ladies would often be able to enter competitions involving sewing and handywork. The prize lists always had advertisers and a list of contributors to the prizes. The book was divided into sections so that each competitor could find the competitions he/she desired to enter, a list of the categories and a small description of who could enter as well as the prizes to be awarded. The cover of the book listed when the fair was to take place and inside there was a list of fair organizers and contestant rules, dates and deadlines.

This collection consists of miscellaneous maps of Upper Canada, Canada West and Ontario. The maps consist mostly of the Peterborough area and include Sir Sandford Fleming's 1846 map of Peterborough. This collection includes several Bird's Eye Views of the City of Peterborough (i.e. copies and variations)

This addition to the fonds consists of correspondence, research notes, newspaper clippings, art catalogues, manuscripts relating to Paul Kane; anthropological research, Irish literary personalities, native art, culture and artifacts, cutlery and trade beads. Also included are personal records of Professor Kidd and his career at the Royal Ontario Museum and Trent University . This fonds consists of correspondence and reports relating to the National and Provincial Parks Association of Canada as well as the personal papers of Gavin Henderson. There are records on conservation, Quetico Park, the Niagara area such as the American Falls and information on Banff and Jasper National Parks. Included in the fonds is the thesis of George Warecki entitled "Protecting Ontario's Wilderness: A History of Wilderness Conservation in Ontario." Also included in the fonds are various publications on wilderness, outdoor recreation, conservation and naturalist activities. There are also four scrapbooks which contain clippings regarding conservation, parks and the 1972 winter olympics.
