The second letter is from Moodie's her publisher in England congratulating her upon the success of Roughing it in the Bush and enclosing a contract for a subsequent book entitled _Mark Huddleston. The watercolour paintings are by Susanna Moodie and all depict flowers.
Moodie, SusannaThis fonds consists of two watercolours with one identified as Hastings, Ontario, and and the other identified as Forest City. Also included in the fonds are two pencil sketches and a photograph of another sketch. One sketch of two farms and a river with a steamboat on it, but otherwise unidentified. The other sketch is of the Anderson house, the Ashfield house, Mr. Harry Fowld's house and the Wanamaker's house, all in Hastings, Ontario. The photographic reproduction is of a sketch entitled Hastings on the Trent, Ontario. The watercolours and sketches were created by Rev. Michael A. Farrar.
Farrar, Michael AndrewsThis accession consists of four books. The first book, The Holy Bible, is a pulpit bible printed by John Baskerville [c.1750], and includes the dedication to King James 1 and the Apocrypha. Handwritten family records, from Thomas A. Stewart's father down through several generations, appear on the inside of the front cover and at the beginning of the New Testament. Included with the bible is a description and history of the book, as provided by Reverend John Shearman. The second book is a "Commonplace" book. The notebook inscribed "Frances Browne, 1811", reflects Frances Stewart's taste in verse and sayings and is handwritten except for a few clippings inter-leaved. A photocopy of the "Commonplace" book is also included.
Two additional books were added in 2004. The first of these is Frances Browne's music book, 1811, and consists of sheet music bound together inside a leather cover; the inscription on the cover reads "Miss F. Browne, 1811." The second of these is Church of England, Book of Common Prayer and Administration of the Sacraments..., [170-]; the title page is missing.
Stewart familyThe fonds consists of a scrapbook relating to Marmaduke Matthew's office as secretary of the Canadian Academy of Arts, from 1878 to 1888; two unpublished manuscripts on Canadian art and artists; two sketchbooks, from 1863 and 1873 to 1874; and a record of pictures, from 1890 to 1908.
This fonds consists of 24 Canadian art catalogues including catalogues of the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts and its' reports, constitution and by-laws. These materials were apparently from the home of Marmaduke Matthews, Wychwood Park, Toronto.

Proctor photographic and artworkThis fonds consists of approximately 843 original cartoons by A.G. Racey covering a wide range of subjects. Due to the universal nature of his cartoons, Racey gained international recognition and his works were reproduced in numerous newspapers and magazines around the world. A file list and descriptions of the cartoons, including dates where known, is available below.
Racey, Arthur G.The fonds consists of nine oil paintings, 8 of which are on board and one on canvas material, of sites in the Townships of Burleigh and Otonabee and were painted between 1941 and 1943. Six pictures deal with the Mount Julian/Stoney Lake area, while the other two are pictures of sites at the Village of Keene in Otonabee Township. The last is a picture of a pioneer cabin, in Burleigh Township.

The fonds is arranged into the following series: correspondence, manuscripts and typescripts; postcards of the British Isles and Canada; photographs and negatives of botanical species from field trips; glass lantern slides of flowers, fine arts, museums, and scenes of Europe; and maps, mostly of Great Britain and Ontario.

Choate familyThis fonds consists of two Christmas greeting cards sent to the Ropers by Ned and Vi Pratt. The card dated 1953 called "Night" with woodcut illustration by their daughter, Claire Pratt, contains a simple seasonal greeting. The other card, undated, contains a poem called "Magic in Everything", and is embellished with pen and ink decorations by Claire Pratt. Both cards are enclosed in a Trinity College envelope. Also included are three paper fragments: a typewritten one presumably quoting an aphorism by Pratt; a handwritten note referring to pages 380 and 396 in the volume Collected Poems in Roper's handwriting; and another reference to page 230.

There are ten pages of play titles with short critiques and names of publishers. Also included in the fonds are two letters from A.
