Volume is a scrapbook of religious and general clippings assembled by Isabelle Fulton Miller Campbell, Keene, Ontario. Clippings are pasted into a ledger of 1862 probably belonging to William Campbell, Keene, Ontario. Some of the ledger entries are still visible. The signature of Isabelle's daughter, Lillian Campbell, is found inside the front cover.
Many clippings concern Canada and World War I. They also include poetry and clippings about expectations of men and women. Newspaper clippings relating to the death of Isabelle's brother, John (1863-1901), are included. One clipping is entitled "A Sermon For Women". Another article dated Feb 22 (1897) and entitled "What is Woman's Sphere" being a response to Rev. Canon Du Monlin has been kept.
File consists of affidavits of John Brown (groom) and Mary Jane Bigelow (bride), both of Clarke Township, Durham County. Married 9 June 1897 in Bowmanville.
This item is a Public School Daily Register folder dated 1895 for Public School #3 from Camborne in Hamilton Township. It includes an attendance record for January, 1897, along with a report of number of male and female students in December, 1896. The register folder spells out in some detail the subject requirements for the various grades.
Hamilton TownshipThis fonds consists of three small notebooks: Volume 1 containing information on duties and freight rates for beer and gin from approximately 1897; Volume 2 containing recipes for alcoholic beverages and Volume 3 containing recipes for assorted chemists' balms, perfumes, cleaning products and medicine.
Fonds consists of records documenting the Stinson family, primarily the legal and political career of T.H. Stinson. Family records include Christmas cards, wedding invitations, and family portraits, Mrs. Stinson's correspondence, and travel records (postcards, booklets, photographs) documenting the 1913 Christian North American Tour, in which Mr. and Mrs. Stinson participated. Records documenting T.H. Stinson's legal and political career include law school notebooks (1904-1910), correspondence and a scrapbook regarding the 1921 election, campaign files and notes from the 1930 and 1935 federal elections and Leslie Frost's 1934 provincial campaign, material from the Conservative Party Caucus Study club, newspaper clippings regarding the depression and the Bennett government, memoranda, correspondence regarding the riding organization (1933-1935); and House of Commons materials. There are postcards which depict scenes of Canada and the United States, from approximately 1920. Included, also, are several local maps, election posters (1927), and voter tally boards.
Stinson, T.H. (Thomas Hubert)Collection consists of three personal notes written by Catharine Parr Traill to her grand-niece, Agnes Le Fenore. One is a two part card with the cover illustrated with cutout images of a dog and a butterfly along with a wisp of moss glued to the surface. The second part of the card is a warm salutation to Agnes and her family. The date is 24 December 1897. The second item, dated 12 May, is a note of thanks to Agnes for obtaining a cape [and cap?] for her, and also refers to fatigue and the problem of swelling feet. The third item is a letter written 1 April 1899 to "G Niece A F" [Agnes] sending belated sympathy for two in hospital and describing in some detail Traill's own plight, and the care offered by Kate and Katie.

Otherwise a very good, tight copy of a scarce item. "It is the object of this pamphlet to render better known the capabilities of those parts of our undeveloped lands which for brevity's sake we are accustomed to call our Northern Districts,--namely, Eastern Algoma, North Nipissing, Temiscaming and the Rainy River country.
