The collection consists of photocopies, originals and typescripts, brought together by Howard Pammett, of newspaper articles and unpublished articles on a variety of subjects such as Mossom Boyd, lumbering in the Kawarthas, Katherine Wallis, Peterborough Canoe Company, Trent Valley Navigation Company, and steamboats on the Trent-Severn system. The newspaper articles are from the "Progress of Peterborough" series by Pammett (Peterborough Examiner, 1950-51). The unpublished articles are "A Survey of Kawartha Lumbering 1815-1965" by Pammett and "The Peterborough Canoe" by Donald Cameron. There is also correspondence of Katherine Wallis, Mossom Boyd, and the Trent Valley Navigation Company.

The fonds consists of manuscripts of poetry; printed poems of Alice Roger Collins; and two letters from Alice Roger Collins (October 30, 1946; February 21, 1948) discussing personal matters, post World War II conditions, and her teaching of music at Walkerton, Ontario. The poetry is presumably by A.R. Collins, some of which is dedicated to 'Fergie' - in ink and pencil, and of a religious nature.

The fonds consists of photocopies of the following memoirs of settlement in the Bobcaygeon Area. a) Reminiscence of Mossom Boyd, written down by M.M. Boyd, 1875-1877, typescript copy, 5 pages. b) Manuscript copy of J.W. Bicks "Reminiscences and Memorandum on Coming to Canada in 1837 and Dunsford family in 1838;" gathered 1891 (January 9) 5 pages. c) George Dunsford Reminiscences, taken down by H.J. Wickham, 1894 in Miss Boyd's hand.

This item is a typescript of an address to the Fortnightly Club by Ralph C. Honey, describing the production of the Centennial book, "Peterborough: Land of Shining Waters." The address was written March 14, 1967.

This addition to the fonds consists of an original marriage license; photocopies of an abstract of marriage settlement; last will and codicils and attachments; and miscellaneous correspondence. The correspondence includes Stewart to Browne (March 11-13, 1823) - original belongs to Mrs. G.K. Browne of St. Andrews East, Quebec; Stewart to Browne (December 23, 1853) - original belongs to Dunlop Stewart of Oakville, Ontario; and F. Stewart to Sandford Fleming - original belongs to H.T. Pammett.

The fonds consists of three original letters. Two are written to Harriet Beaufort, the third and last one to Maria Noble. Letter #1 (November 9, 1823-December 6, 1823), tells of mail received, the death of Frances' daughter Bessie, description of produce, and of difficulties in communication with Cobourg. Letter #2 (January 27, 1824-February 5, 1824), describes Frances' troubles with servants, of Tom's trip to Cobourg over the Rice Lake/Peterborough Road, and his getting lost on the lake, and her new baby girl. Letter #3, written from Goodwood, (April 11, 1854), tells of Tom's death, and her reflections on it.

The fonds consists of the correspondence and manuscripts of the Peterborough author and teacher, Francis J.A. Morris, primarily relating to his interests in botany, entomology, and classical and modern literature. The papers include both prose and poetry selections, some of which are unpublished. Morris wrote for diverse journals, among them the Canadian Forum, and the Canadian Entomologist. Also among the papers are published copies of some of his works, and copies of the works of other authors, mainly in the field of natural science and botany or entomology. There are photographs included, some of which are reproduced here.

This fonds consists of correspondence, copies of articles, and manuscripts relating to the book "Here Was Vinland" (Sault Ste. Marie, 1939). It also includes family papers and miscellanea. The correspondence includes letters from C.E. Brown, L. Burpee, Dr. T.P. Christennen, Dr. K. Christofferson, J.E. Dodd, A.J. Erikson, E. Greenaway, Judge A. McComber, the Smithsonian Institute, V. Stefannson, and others.

This fonds consists of the original and collected papers of E.C. Guillet, relating to his works and research on the Trent Valley/Peterborough/Kawartha area. Included is correspondence, primarily with George M. Douglas and Helen Marryat; maps (photocopies); newspaper articles regarding above area; collected manuscripts of historical authors; photographs; and Guillet's own unpublished manuscript of Canadian Literary Pioneers.

This fonds includes the letters of Anna Leveridge, written to her mother and family friends in England, describing their boat trip to Canada and pioneer life in the backwoods of Hastings County, Ontario, near Coe Hill, Marmora, and Millbridge. The fonds also includes family genealogy and photographs.

The fonds consists of the typescript memoirs of Minnie E. McHolm of her life in Frome, Somerset, England, to March 1913, then the memoirs of life as a domestic on the Canadian prairies, outside of Regina, to December 1920. The fonds also includes two booklets of Mrs. McHolm's poetry, The Indiscretion of Mary Jane and Sunset at Golden Hill. Additional material received in 2003 includes another book of poetry, Singing With a Swing, and newspaper clippings regarding Minnie McHolm. Also included are 2 Christmas cards featuring McHolm poems signed by Minnie McHolm and a newspaper obituary.

File consists of two original letters. One letter is from Susanna Moodie to Mrs. Katie Vickery, Susanna Moodie's daughter, which is undated. The second letter is from Moodie's her publisher in England congratulating her upon the success of Roughing it in the Bush and enclosing a contract for a subsequent book entitled Mark Huddleston.

Fonds is comprised of textual records related to the research and publishing activities of Professor James Neufeld. These papers include research notes, correspondence, interview notes, and background materials for four books: Power to Rise: The Story of The National Ballet of Canada (Toronto: University of Toronto Press, 1996), Lois Marshall: A Biography (Toronto: Dundurn Press, 2010), Passion to Dance: The National Ballet of Canada (Toronto: Dundurn Press, 2011), and Karen Kain: Artistic Director (2019). Also includes an archive of published articles by Professor Neufeld in various journals and magazines (1976-2012). Fonds is arranged into three series: Ballet in Canada research materials, Lois Marshall research materials, and Published articles.

Fonds is a research collection comprised of handwritten notes, newspaper clippings, photocopies of published and primary materials, transcriptions of letters, video and cassette tapes. Subject areas pertain primarily to Catharine Parr Traill, Susanna Moodie, Robertson Davies, and a conference held at Trent University in honour of Timothy Findley (1997). Also included are handwritten notes, correspondence with researchers, publishers and editors, and copies of talks, papers and manuscripts by Professor Peterman.

Fonds is comprised of 54 audio reel-to-reel tapes created by Lionel Rubinoff; the tapes are recordings of contributions by Professor Rubinoff to CBC Ideas and other CBC programs broadcast in the late 1960s and 1970s. Also included are recordings of various lectures and a Sony reel-to-reel tape player.

Fonds is comprised of research materials, correspondence and manuscript drafts related to Professor Denis Smith's books and articles, including his book A Dissenting Voice (2017). Fonds consists primarily of research material for the book, Cornwall Electric: 100 Years of Service, published in 1987 by Karen Carter-Edwards. The records focus on Cornwall and the history and development of Cornwall Electric; they also cover broader issues such as the development of public education in Ontario, municipal ownership of public utilities, and the development of provincial policies related to public health in the areas of sanitation and fluoridation.

Mitchell’s serialized novel, The Alien; first and last draft of manuscript for book Winona (published 2007) plus various edited pages related to the manuscript; correspondence with Len Early, co-editor with Peterman for Winona and The Collected Short Stories of Isabella Valancy Crawford; biographical and other research material related to Isabella Valancy Crawford and her works; correspondence with Tamar Dobozy regarding a Peterman article, “Writing for the Illustrated Story Papers in the 1870s: Individuality and Conformity, Isabella Valancy Crawford’s Stories and Serialized Fiction” (published in Short Story, Spring 2005); references to stories and books: Hearthstone, Hate, and Flora Lyndsay; research and manuscript material pertaining to the creation of the critical edition of Flora Lyndsay: Passages in an Eventful Life.

Fonds is comprised of materials pertaining to the life and career of playwright and author Munroe Scott. Included are miscellaneous correspondence files as well as manuscripts, correspondence, copyright permissions, research files, publicity materials, and reviews pertaining to his several books and plays. Included are 39 cassette tapes (and transcripts) of interviews by Munroe Scott with Dominion Sculptor Eleanor Milne and with authors, artists, and academics associated with Milne's work.
