              The fonds consists of microfilmed copies of undated and dated correspondence, and papers from 1796 to 1842. Topics included are: Mohawk rationing, relations with Joseph Brant and his family, Indian land administration in Upper Canada and United States, family/personal news, and Six Nations Affairs. The fonds also includes papers, notes and correspondence of J. McE. Murray of the Ontario Historical Society regarding the Ontario Historical Society's papers and records (Vol. 37, 1945).

              This collection consists of an eclectic assortment of documents and papers pertaining to many parts of Canada including 3 documents prepared by Powadiuk for the government, 2 of which concern native peoples; 10 prints of 19th century personalities; 1905 map of the Niagara River; papers re Indian-Eskimo Association; deeds, mortgages and trust documents from Huron and Bruce Counties; Niagara peninsula documents including Hugh Alexander's account book; Lord Selkirk letter dated 1837; Charles G.D. Roberts letter dated 1892; notes on the inception of "Evangeline." A major element in the collection relates to Mr. James Ross of East Hawkesbury, stone mason and merchant and his family. The Ross quarry appears to have supplied stone for the Carillon lock and for Fort Henry. The family was involved in the East Hawkesbury school for 2 decades.

              This fonds consists of the administrative and academic records created during Professor Kenneth Kidd's career at Trent University. The fonds has been arranged into three distinct series: administrative, academic, and materials related to the development of the native studies program at Trent University. It includes: committee minutes; correspondence, especially relating to the Departments of Anthropology and Native Studies; and manuscripts of works on glass beads, which were later published. There are also brochures, programs and papers from learned societies.

              This collection consists of photographs relating to Indigenous peoples and their activities, mostly throughout Canada. The photographs portray extensively the lives of Indigenous people who lived in Canada during the 1800's and early 1900's. Most of the photographs are copies of other photographs but several are copies of sketches and paintings done in the late 1600's to the mid 1800's. Each photograph is labelled with a title and a place of origin.

Approximately 627 photographs, mostly of random locations in Ontario, are included in this fonds. Fonds includes 9 diaries written by Turner between 1977 and 1985.

              This item is a copy and translation of a letter from Louis Riel in the prison at Regina to Dr. Romuald Fiset, thanking Fiset and the committee for Riel's defence, for what they were doing for him and outlining his activities since his return from the United States so that his attorneys (Lemieux and Fitzpatrick) might have his side of the story. In the letter, Riel also voices his desire that his trial be held in Lower Canada.

              This fonds consists of newspaper articles and correspondence relating to the long-standing land claims dispute of the Lubicon Lake Cree Indian Band of northern Alberta. It includes the controversial Fulton Report from 1986 and copies of federal and provincial negotiations, extensive coverage of the Band's boycott of the 1988 Calgary Olympic Winter Games, and media coverage of associated medical and social problems such as cancer, tuberculosis, as well as the decline in the quality of life of the Lubicon people.
